minutes of the last annual

accomplishments were told.

vice was in the charge of the
Auburn Branch. The presi-
dent, Mrs. Kenneth
McDougall, gave an in-
spirational message and
flowers were placed in an ar,-

relating several emotional
and sometimes amusing
anecdotes to a large group of
M -Anon members about his
wife's drinking problem,
One story happened when
he was driving her hone
after a party. She was drunk,
and he was angry, so he
turned to her and said,
"Won't you give up drinking
for int?" She replied,
"Whatever gave you the idea
I wasii1i&kirigforyou?"
The speaker who remains
anonymous, spoke at the
Public iriforam tioin Day
which the Seaforth branch of
Al -Anon hosted for their
district, including the
Goderich group, last
Saturday May 30.
Al -Anon is a self-
supporting group, not af-
filiated with any other,
although it does co-operate
with AA. There are no
membership dues; the only
membership requirement is
that you are affected by an
alcoholic.
The group takes no stand
in any. outside. controversy,
since it ` wishes to con-
centrate soleyon its spiritual

M -Anon which meets every
Wednesday night at. Knox.
Presbyterian Church. The
group will be celebrating its
29th anniversary this Sep.
