Queen crowned
Beta Sigma Phi held its annual May Ball
on Saturday, May 30. Tandebrate its 50th
andeersary, a hospitality hour was held
followed by an excellent buffet catered by
Mrs. Miller of Seaferth. A horseshoe
shaped anniversary cake decorated vidth
yellow roses, the flower symbol of the
Sorority was made by Judy Woodall, a
member of the group-
Sfulway through the evenhig, Cheryl
Smith, last year's Queen of the Bali, pass-
ed her crown ea to Rosemary Cornwall.
Rosemary was selected by a secret vote at
a meeting prior to the dance. She was
presented with a lovely botiquet of long-
stemmed yellow silk roses and a gift of a
Sorority necklace and charm.
BEM Green, of Woodstock, p the

songs ranged from the 1930s to the 1980s.
The special attractkni was the Ms set COM-
prete with leather jackets and sunglasses,
'although the highlight of the entertain-
ment was when Mery Witter, formerly of
the Goderieh Pokce Force was called upon

Door prfzes were drawn throughout the

Bedford Hotel was won by Verna Kane. A
set of steak boards compliments of
Baeehfer Kitchens and Interiors was won
by Kathy Olson. A floral centrepiece ar-
ranged by Denoznme Flower Shop was

won by Darlene Keown and a lady's pen
set from Sheaffer Pen was won by Louise
Sygrove.
Special thanks go to Pat Spence who
hosted the evening and chaired the com-
mittee which made the 50th Anniversary
May Ball such a memorable and enjoyable
evening for all who attended.

centive for the students.
On June 17 the senior and
junior boys and girls
peting in the ball tournament
at Brookside Public School.
One June 19 the
kindergarten graduation and
May 25 and the grade 7's
went to Camp Sylvan with
Mr. Spittalfor three days.
On June 4, approximately
60 students froni the Bell
River School Band came to
Holmesville Public and par-,
ticipated in a concert at
MSS. After being billeted
Thursday evening by
Hotmesville's band
members as well as Huron
Centennial, the group toured
the Huron County Museum
and r, •...i before rerenedng
home on Friday. The
Holmesville band may
return the visit next year.

graduates will visit

On June 22 parents, of the
Grade 6 class are invited to
attend a noon luncheon at
12:30 pin in the gymnasium
and remain for the promo-
tion ceremonies.
And last, but not least,
June /3 is the last day of
school and the staff would
like to take this opportunity
to wish everyone a very hap-
py but safe and enjoyable
summer. We will see you
back on September 8, 1981.
