Day nursery
costs increase
If you are planning to enrol the little ones in nursery
school this fall, it will cost at least 10 per cent more
over last year's prices.
At a regular meeting of council Monday, coun-
cillors supported a recommendation from the
Municipal Day Nursery .Committee to raise the fees
beginningSeptember 1981.
The new fee schedule calls for a $3 increase for a

-crease i' r twesessioiis per week. •
It will now cost $30 for a child attending three
sessions per week if the mother participates and $21
for the second child. If the mother does not par-
ticipate in school activity it will cost $40 for three
sessions and$28forthe second child.
Two sessions per week will cost a participating
mother $20 and $14 for the second child while a non-
participating mother will pay $30 for one child and$21
for the second child.
The municipal day nursery is presently located on
Gloucester Terrace but will be relocated in a new
facility in the Cambridge Park area. Construction of
the new mini -centre complex will begin shortly and
completion is expected in December.
Request for
church denied
A request by the building _ committee of the
Goderich Christian Reformed Church to;acquireland
on the north side of the Suncoast extension to con-
struct a new church has been denied;
A couple of months ago, representatives of the
church asked council about the availability of a piece
of land west of the Graham Electric property for the
construction of a new church. Council referred the
matter to the Economic Development Committee and.
the committee recommended the request be denied.
Councillor Elsa Haydon indicated that planning
board would be forwarding several objections to the
proposed church location.
Committee chairman, Jack Brady said that during
a detailed review of the official plan update, the
committee forwarded comments to planning board
recommending that the land in question be zoned
light industrial.
Goderich clerk, Larry McCabe said three bylaws
were circulated re zoning the property to light in-
dustrial. Several objections were recieved on the.
bylaw and will be dealt with by council. Clerk
McCabe said perhaps some concessions would have
to be made with the objectors to avoid an Ontario
Municipal Board hearing.
The Economic Development Committee recom-
mended to council that the land not be sold for the
purpose of a church since it is a prime light industrial
Property.
