During the program a mock wedding was perform- ed with Joanne Doherty and Christine Martin as the bride and groom, Arletta, Shauna, Missy and Jenny Martin as the attendants, Pat Martin, mother off the -bride and Shirley Martin, the minister. After everyone did a quiz, Pat Martin, aunt of the bride and chairlady for the evening read an address to Anita on behalf of everyone., resent. Anita was assisted' in op ening her gifts by her sister, Joanne, and Joanne Van Osch. A delicious ,lunch, including a beautiful cake decorated as a bride, made by Pat Martin, was served by the hostesses, Pat Martin and Shirley Martin and their daughters, ;O - Bernie Van Osch has com- pleted his. final year at Ryer- son in Toronto and is employ= ed with B. M. Ross and Associates Ltd., Goderich. Steve Howard has com- pleted his course at Centralia Agricultural College and is presently on the. farm 'at home. Marianne Frayne has com- leted her course at Althouse Teacher's College, London. Others home from univer- sity for the summer are Joanne Van Osch, first year.. at Western; Jim Van Osch, finishing second year at Wil- frid Laurier; Mark Frayne, finishing second year at Wil - fried Laurier; Morris Van Osch, completing his first year at Centralia Agricultural College; Blaise Doherty, fin- ishing his 'first year at Fan- shaw and Diane Van Rooy, her second year at King's College, London. This is the third year they hold this title. The junior boys floor hockey team plac- ed fourth in the finals. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Rod McDonagh, on the birth of a baby boy, Conor, on Sunday, April 26. Mrs. McDonagh is the grade seven and eight teacher at Kingsbridge. Lisa Frayne, Liz , Vogt,' Denise Connelly and Duncan Simpson were students from this area taking part in the school . band exchange trip with students from Massey Secondary School, Windsor. They were in Windsor from Wednesday to Saturday where they played at a concert, toured the automo- bile assembly plant and visited the Detroit Zoo. Mrs. Pearl Lawrence of RR5 Goderich celebrated her .90th birthday last week and not just for one day, but for several days as relatives, friends, neighbours, the Reverend Robert J. Crocker of St. George's Anglican Church, and several members of Goderich Rebekah Lodge, of which Mrs. Lawrence is a member, made special visits and en- joyed the opportunity of ex- tending birthday wishes while having afternoon tea and birthday cake served by Mrs. Lawrence's daughter. Phyllis. Mrs. Pearl (Morris) Lawrence was born in Col- borne Township and moved to Goderich when she mar- ried William Lawrence in 1913. They lived in Goderich for many years and returned to Colborne Township 14 years ago when " their daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. John Wilson, pur- chased land and built a new home at the Airport Road and Highway 21 intersection on the very land that was Mrs. Lawrence's former home. Mrs. Lawrence has been active in Lodge work for many years and still keeps in touch.
