nybrook Medical Centre,
Torontoon Wednesday, April
15 at the age of 85.
He was born In Clinton on
September 14, 1895. to
William Beacom (his
mother's name is not
known).
The late Mr. Beacon was
a retired teacher and served
on the staff of the North Bay
Teachers College for several
years.
During World War I, he
served with the 33rd Bat-
talion of the Canadian
Expeditionary Force and
was wounded at Paschen -
dale.
He married Gladys Field
who survives him.
He is also survived by one
daughter, Mary Agnes Lord;
one sister, Mrs. Fred Slur, _in
of Clinton; and two grand-
children.
A#uneral service was held
at Trull Funeral Home
Chapel on April 21. Padre
Lord of Sunnybrook Medical
Centre officiated.
Interment was in Maitland
Cemetery, Goderich.

Mrs. Pearl (Leitch)
McCrae of 3680 Keele Street,
North, Apartment 377,
Toronto died in York Finch
Hospital, Toronto on Wed-
nesday, April 22 at the age of
86.
She was born in Bayfield
on September , 21, 1894 to
David and Lucinda
(Lawrusen)'Leitch.
She was a member of St.
Anne's Anglican Church,
Toronto.
She married George T.
McCrae in Toronto on May
24,1980. He survives her.
Also surviving her are two
sons, Albert and Victor
Powell, both of Goderich;
ane sister, Mrs. Margaret
McLeod of Goderich; one
brother, Albert Leitch of
Goderich; nine grand-
children; and eight great-
grandchildren.
She was predeceased by
her first husband, George
Powell in 1918; her second
husband, Ernest Snider in
1942; one daughter, Mrs.
Muriel Daniels; and one son,
Ronald Snider.
A funeral service and.
committal were held at
Stiles Funeral Home in
Goderich on Sunday, April 26
at 4 p.m. The Reverend
Robert J. Crocker officiated.
interment was in Avondale
Cemetery, Stratford.

Mrs. Olive Martha (Dolly)
Sturdy of Goderich died in
Alexandra Marine and
General Hospital on Thur-
sday, April 23 at the age of
82.
She was born in Colborne
Township on July 10, 1 NN:8 to
James and Ellen (Cowan)
McManus.
She served as a Justice of
the Peace from 1956 to 1965
and operated the licence
bureau in Goderich for a
number of years.
She was a member of St.
George's Anglican Church.

The Kintail. Flyers came

Holyrood Butchers with a
score of 7to3 hi favour of the
Flyers. It was a hard fight for
the Flyers for they had to

-On April 6 a community
shower was held at the North
Ashfield Presbyter'ian
Church for Tammy MacDon-
ald. Tammy received lovely
gifts and a very dainty lunch
was served by the hostesses.
Tammy alsohad a family
shower in London earlier.
The wedding is upcoming
Saturday,. May 2.
Donald Hamilton, who was
a former resident in the
Lochalsh area, has returned
to his home in Lucknow after
being hospitalized for several
days in University Hospital
in London.
Mr. and Mrs. Greg Ham-
ilton have moved to Calgary,
Alberta since they were
married. Greg is employed in
Calgary.
Roddie MacDonald has
taken up residence in the
home owned by Danny Rose
on highway -86.
Visiting with Mr. and Mrs,
George Moncrief on the
weekend were Mr. and Mrs.
George Ullrich and family of
London and Mr. and Mrs
Dave Bell and family of
Smithsville.
She was predeceased by
her husband William and one
son, John.
She issurvived by two
sons, Peter of Goderich and
William of Toronto; three
grandchildren, Jamey,
Stephen and Christopher;
three sisters, Mrs. William
(May) Bisset, Mrs. Herbert
(Lillian) Thorneloe and Mrs.
Gordon (Edith) McPhee all
of Goderich: and two
brothers, Robert McManus
of Toronto and James W.
McManus of Goderich,
A funeral service was held
at St. George's Anglican
Church on Saturday, April 25
at 2 p.m, The Reverend
Robert J. Crocker officiated.
interment was in Colborne
Cemetery, Colborne
Township.
Pallbearers were Jim
McPhee, Peter Patterson,
William Kreps, Lloyd
Pierce, Glen Gardiner and
Arnold Mitchell. ,,
McCallum. Funeral Home
in Goderich was in charge of
funeral arrangements.
Pass dance exams
Congratulations to Lisa
Frayne and Denise Connelly
who were successful in pas-
sing their dancing exams
recently. Both girls were
commended and received
their first gold bar in the
Sailor's Hornpipe and the
Irish Jig. They were also
commended and received
their second gold bar in the
Scottish Highland and the
Scottish National. They also
passed their _grade five the-
ory with honours. Their
examiner was from Glasgow
Scotland.
Visitors during the past
week with Raymond and
Mildred Hogan and family
were Mildred's sisters, Glen-
da Jairala, David and Jen-
nifer and Mone Vega, all of
Chicago.
Friends of Donald Farrish
will be pleased to learn that
he was transferred from
London, Victoria Hospital,L,unuu,,, t:,
the Wingham and District
Hospital on the weekend,
-where he will recuperate
before returning to his home.
His father,, Lorne Fairish
of Lucknow, a former resid-
ent:from the' area. was also
admitted to the Wingham
and District Hospital on Sun-
day.
A community bridal show-

evening in the Parish Hall for
Bethany Austin.
