to retire - frombusilte-ss and
will make a quick sale of his
entire stock.
Among. the 'shipments
from the big mill this week
were five carloads of flour to
London; England.
The annuat meeting of the
shareholders of the Goderich
Elevator and Transit
Company was held in the
office .o£. W.L.. Horton .- on
.Wednesday afternoon and
directors were elected. They
are Messrs. Hunt, Dyment,
Stewart, Clark, Horton, J.
Goldie and McLaughlin.
W.R.Robertson was re-

bookkeeping practices.
It is with this situation in
mind that the Federal
Business Development Bank
has prepared a day -long
seminar_ on _- bookkeeping,
that will be presented on
Wednesday, April 22 at the
Pine Ridge Chalet, R.R. 2
Hensall. All owner -manager
or employees of small
businesses, are invited to
participate. Practical in-
struction and exercises on
the journal, general ledger
and many entries leading up
to the trial balance, will be
included.
Pre -registration of $35 per
person is required, so in-
terested parties should
contact the Stratford Branch
of the Federal Business
Development Bank.

Bennett Street to allow the
construction of row housing
units pending approval of an
appropriate site plan.

harbor. after . an accident
whichOccurred while he and
a crewmate were inspecting
lifeboats aboard the lake
freighter, TheWestdale.
Dr. Bette Stephenson,
acting minister of health,
told Clinton hospital board in
a letter Monday that they
must give all their 110 em-
ployees severance : notices.
The hospital is to accept no
more patients after May 1
and will be closed by June 1.,
Goderich -town council -has
given final reading to a by- ,
law calling for the closure of
Mary Street east of the east
limit of Maple Stre-et..
The citizens of Bennett,
Tilt and Jones .Streets have
petitioned town council in a
letter to rectify the water
drainage problem that exists
on Bennett Street.
Dave Smith, a Goderich Air Cadet, assisted with the Rotary Club's paper drive on Saturday
morning. Approximately one in seven Goderich households had papers bundled for pick-up
and Rotarians are hoping even more households will participate in the next drive on May 30.

chapel on Friday morning
for all the Catholic residents
and bingo was layed on
ground north on Friday
afternoon.
Old Time Music was held
in normal care sitting, where
residents enjoyed the piano
playing of Mrs. Elsie
Henderson and also records
that have . been donated of
fiddle music.
Ceramic bunnies and eggs,
were painted during the
ceramic class on Tuesday
afternoon.
Huronview residents had
the opportunity to satisfy
their taste buds on Wednes-
day afternoon when they
came to the craft room and
could purchase different
kinds of baking including
Mabel Garrow's famous
fudge.
A work bee was called on
Thursday to help make
Kleenex flowers for a local
wedding, and on Thursday
afternoon, Mrs. Prouty, who
had recently returned from a
holiday in Florida, held Bi-
ble study in the chapel.
Sympathy is expressed to
the family of John
Rosenlunid who died recent-
ly.
We have a new resident
this week, Mrs. Mildred
Yellow from Exeter who is
now living on first north. She
has already been down to the
craft room to spend a morn-
ing with residents and all
hope she will soon feel very
much at home.
The' draw for the Easter
basket will be made at the
end of this week, and 'the
draw on the giant Easter egg
donated by Bartliff's Bakery
will be made on April 16, so if
you haven't purchased yotr
tickets yet, they can be
bought at the tuck shop.
