Council will be advised of the date, time and place of the public meeting concerning the application. Mobile iCe cream Patrick Gavigan asked council for permission to operate a mobile (bicycle) ice cream vending unit in Goderich this summer. Clerk Larry McCabe said there were no municipal restrictions on this type of trade if the vendor has a provincial licence. the matter will, however, be brought to the attention of the Huron county Health Unit. Buggy tours St.' Georges Anglican Church asked town council for permission to operate tours of the town by horse and buggy Saturday, June.27 from 2 to 7.30 p.m. The tours will be part of the 100th anniversary ofthe church: • Host gathering Town council again plans to host a • small gathering for the members of Huron County Council which .is usually done in conjunction with the past War- den's banquet.. The dates for the carnival are July 16,17 and 18 and will include a beer tent in Court House Park as well as rides and games of chance. Sell .land Council agreed to sell a parcel of land in' Industrial Park . to Huromic Metal Industries Ltd. for future expansion. the 21'4 acre parcel of land will be sold to Huromic at a price of $5,000 per acre with a five-year buy back clause. Bylaw passed Council passed bylaw . 32 of 1981 Monday that redesignates land along the north-east section of the Suncoast esx tension to industrial M1-3 from DevelopmentaL The bylaw sets out permitted lases on the rezoned lands and also lists prohibited uses. The purpose of the bylaw wasto open up additional lands in the Industrial Park for industrial development. Because the land is close to .the :Delbar.. subdivision .-the ...range -of ...in- __ dustrial uses is restricted to those capable of meeting higher performance and site plan standards to ensure com- patibility. Land redesignated Bylaw 33 of 1981 also redesignates land on the Suncoast extensim but this parcel on the south side of the extension was designated Industrial M1-4. The land covers parts lot 2, concession 11 and lot 107 of, the Maitland concession. the redesignation will permit light industrial usage that is compatible with the residential area. (10 y' nvitosound to relocate.... • from page l had to make. We exhausted every other possibility but decided moving was the only way," said Wilton. Bob Patterson of Huromic, on the other hand, said his business is .booming here. Huromic has complete finishing facilities for building yachts from scratch. and also has a machine shop for industrial sub- contract work. Huromic is also located on Huckins Street in the Industrial Park and Patterson recently requested permission to buy 2112 acres of land to the west of his present . property to build an addition onto his building, possibly as early as this spring. Town council approved a recommendation from the GEDC Monday night to sell the land to Patterson for the regular $5,000 an acre fee with a buy-back clause. This clause states. that if the land is not used within five years of the purchase date, the town has the option of buying it back from the purchaser. The land is officially described as part 22 andvart 31 of plan 22R-1172. -It has a 220 foot frontage. Itis already zoned properly for the type of business carried on by Huromic and it is one of only two remaining serviced pieces of land in the Industrial Park. Huromic employs 40 persons now and Patterson says this number could be increased by 10 or 15 next winter after expansion. One GEDC member remarked that it seems to be easier to expand existing industries in Goderich than trying to attractnew ones. WWI 1 Photo finishing, YOUR I.D.A. H O T O GREAT VALUE! AT RIECK L.D.A.
