SPRING
What is your favorite
season? Well, if you said
something different than
spring, do you realize what
you are leaving out of your
life?
For instance, you are
leaving out the flowers,
green grass, some boats otit
in the harbour, rainbows,
etc. Now what is your
favorite season? I hope I
changed your mind about
Spring, because I would not
want anyone to go and have a
lousy life!
So just remember what I
said and Goderich will be a
great place to live in!

Milk Marketing Board has
caused some concern.
Milk consumption has not
fully recovered from the
price increases of_ November
1971' to August, 1980. This
situation is coupled with the
effect of the change -over
from the one quart to one
litre container which offers
the consumer less volume of
milk per unit of purchase.
The introduction of U.H.T.
milk has solved the problem
of souring encountered' with
fresh milk. It -does not have
to be refrigerated. Therefore
energy can be saved by
producer, retailer and
consumer in the handling
and storing of this product.
U.H.T. milk does not need
and should not be distributed
in the specially designed
trucks that carry fresh milk.
They 'are built with heavy
insulation and cooling
mechanisms, are expensive
and use a great deal of
energy. -
U.H.T. milk will save
energy in the supermarkets
because it can be stored on
the regular shelves instead
of the energy -wasteful
refrigeratorcases.
Most consumers have
limited refrigerator space
for storing enough milk for
use between shopping trips.
U.H.T. milk can be Pur- development of the athletic
chased well ahead in larger complex across from the
efficient. It can be more
economically distributed by
using regular supermarket
trucks rather than the dairy
products distribution
system .
CAC recommends that the
current practice of
restrictions linking the
distribution be lifted. This
move would increase ef-
ficiency and reduce costs
which, if passed on to the
consumer, would most likely
result in increased sales of
the product.
Milk is important to the
well being of all consumers.
They should have a choice of
fresh, powdered and U.H.T.
milk at reasonable prices.
There is room for all of these
