Women attend crewel Achievement Day
Crewel embroidery
Achievement Day was held
in Ontario Street United
Church, Clinton. on Wednes-
DDuunl op Women's Institute
sponsored this course in this
district With leaders, Mrs.
Mollie Sutton and Mrs. Ger-
tie Snyder starting it early
this year. In all, 14 ladies
started the course and learn-
ed the fundamental stitches.
At Achievement Day eight of
these ladies and one visitor
were able to attend. They
were: leader Mrs. Gertie
Snyder and members Mrs.
R. Buchanan (and guest
Mrs. Pope), Mrs. H. Hen-
drick, Mrs. G. gaining Mrs.
Phyllis Bggie, lil[re:Phyllis'
Fisher, Mrs. Dorothy
Feagan and Mrs. Mary Stoll.
It was a very interesting
and educational evening on
the subject of crewel em=
broidery with many simply
beautiful displays. It was
fascinating to see how
creative some women were.
Their works were real
masterpieces. There were
pictures, wall hangings,
cushions; shopping bags, hot
plate stands, brooches and
many more ideas displayed.
The Institute, over the
years, has sponsored many
courses and all of them are
well worth the effort it takes
to attend. The knowledge
and friendship , derived are
priceless,
