CHHL playoffs altered due to ice
With the ice scheduled to
come out of the Goderich
arena on Wednesday, the
CHHL playoffs have had to
be altered in order to finish
the season..
Originally, a three -team
round robin was to deter-
mine what two teams would
play a five game final series.
Because of the time element,
the final was cut to a three -
game series.
It was decided Sunday,
however , that he final 'wo d --
be a sudden death affair. It
was also decided that it all
three teams had identical
Industrial
records (two wins and two
losses) then the team with
the worst goals for and
against totals would be
- eliminated.

eager out their rivals, the
G.D.C.I." Vikings who
required an extra end to
defeat the Huron Health Unit

the final computations.

Grand Championship Game

as many teams fell victim to
the upset. The biggest such
event occurred in the first
match of the day as the
previously winless Cham-
pion Office "Silver Brooms"
defeated the very talented
and stylish Maitland Golfers
7 to 6. The Silver Brooms of
Karen Gilchrist, Paul
Mulligan, Jennifer Matthews
and skip Barry Page opened
the way for the second
seeded G.D.C.I. Teachers
No. 1 and the fourth seeded
AM & G Hospital No. 1 to
meet in theChampionship.
The Hospital unit of Mike
Cox, David Brissette, Leslie
and Jim Rourke earned their
right to the Championship
final with wins of 7 to -3 over
the Champion Sales Office
and a last shot 4 to 3 victory
over Fisher Bu ilders.
The G.D.C.I. Teacher No. 1
foursome of Del Almeida,
Bill Worsell, Doug Bundy

Unlike the Grand
Championship, there were
no last minute heroics or
comics in the "B" Cham-
pionship. The heavy ,ice
seemed to favour the ex-
tremely well fit and athletic
Teachers and they took
advantage of it to grab an
early 7 to 0 advantage.
Although the very com-
petitive Hospital foursome
fought back hard, they were
forced to concede defeat in
the sixth end. The 10 to 3
triumph clinched the "B"
Championship Trophy and
ended an up and down season
for the Teachers' on a high
note.
The Maitland Golfers
recovered from their initial
upset and went on 'in very
determined fashion to win
third prize in the com-
petition. The kilted feminine
foursome of Penny Peters,
Lynn Todgam, Kay Duncan
and skip Susan White
upended the Teachers Ink
group 5 to 2 and finished the
day with a '6 to 4 triumph
over last year's `B"
Champion, the Champion
Sales Uttice., foursome of
Don Kent, Monica Page, Bill
Hayward and Pete Wanner.
