Valentine's Day
is wedding theme
Auburn United Church was
decorated with white mums
and red streamers 'for a
Valentine's bay wedding on
Saturday, February 44 at
7:30 pm. when Wayne
Gordon Allin of Goderich and
Sherry Lynn Turner of
London were united in
marriage.
The bride is the daughter
of Robert and jobel Turner
of Auburn an the groom is
the son of Beatrice Allin of
Goderich and the late Roy
Allin.
The Reverend John D.M.
Wood of Goderich and!
Richard Hawley of Auburn
officiated at the double ring
ceremony. Music was
provided by organist
Florence Wightman of
Auburn. •
The bride was given in
marriage by a fiend,
Malcolm Angus of LA don,
with the blessing of her
parents. She wore a cream
colored street -length dress
featuring long sleeves with
lace trim. She carried a
nosegay, of red sweetheart
roses with white baby's
breath.
Maid of honor wa$
Lorraine Chamney of
Goderich. She wore a light
blue two piece street -length
dress with a matching jacket
and carried ,a nosegay of
white mums and red car-
nations. •
Groornsma i was Kevin
Cunningham of Goderich
and guests were ushered into
the church by Roy Linklater,
also of GodericK
Single long stemmed red
roses were presented to the
mothers of the. bride and
groom on the way out of the
church after the signing of
the register.
Following the wedding
ceremony, a reception was
held in the Auburn Com-
munity Hall which was
decorated with red and white
streamers, red hearts and
white bells.
The bride's mother
greeted guests wearing a
pink chiffon street -length
dress with a corsage of white
mums.
The groom's mother
assisted wearing a blue
street-leilgt h dress.
Mr. and Mrs. Allin have
taken up residence at 118
Bennet Street, East ' in
Goderich.
Prior to her 'wedding, the
bride was feted at a shower
given by the ladies .of the
Auburn community. A
rehearsal party was held by
the groom's mother' on
February 13.

daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. John MacKay of
Goderich, and Donnell E.
Woods of London, son of
Ezra Woods of Owen Sound
and Mrs. Thelma Casella of
Thunder Bay.
Dr. R.G. MacMillan of
Burlington officiated.
Mr. and Mrs. F.D. Bar-
nhart of Oakville attended
the couple.
Mr. and Mrs. Woods will
reside at 1112 Dalhousie
Drive, London.

Any questions relating to the survey, or type of
housing being considered will be answered at the
meeting.

Delegation protests development
A delegation from Jowett's
Grove was present at the
regular meeting of Goderich
Township Council on March
16 to protest the development
of a condominium adjacent
to their property. Mrs. Soper
and Mrs. Poth, two of the
delegation members, ex-
pressed the -fear of-exeess
water damage. No motions
were recorded regarding
this.
Dwight Williams was
present at the meeting to
enquire if any measures
could be taken to alleviate
the smell from a mink farm.
Councillor Sturdy reported
on an investigation which he
had made of this situation.
No motions were recorded.
Mr. McLaughlin and Mr.
Stratychuk were present at
the meeting to enquire, into
the . possibility of buying
waterfrom the township well
on Plan 29. No motions were
recorded. , ..
Mrs. F. Graham was
present to solicit council's
approval of a severance
request for lot 14, Maitland
Concession. Council passed a
motion to rescind its
previous motion wherein the
severance application was
not approved •and to now
approve the request, subject
to a pre -design plan of
development for .lip the
property being presented to
the township.
Mr. Pompilii and Mr.
Peever were present at the
meeting to explain the
proposed development of a
condominium on lot -1, Base
Line and the measures by'
which they intend to control
tater,' sewage and excess
run off water. Council passed
a motion -to approve the
request of Blue Anchor
Investments Ltd. for a plan.
amendment to permit the
development of a. con-
dominium -on lot 1, Base
Line, subject to the approval
of a duly appointed.township
engineer. •
Deputy Reeve Jake Reder
was authorized to represent
the township at the Graham
severance hearing on March
17 in Goderich. •
W.M. Dundass was present
to discuss the operation of
the township water well on
Plan 29. He also requested
the township to repair the 30
foot access road to the beach
which appears to need at-
tention. No motions were.

Huron County planner
Gary Davidson was present
to discuss the Graham
request, the Splan by-law
and the need for a summer
student . to assist in the
preparation of a zoning by-
law for the township. Council
passed a motion agreeing to
participate in the program of
hiring a summer student to
assist in the preparation of
zoning by-laws for Colborne,
Ashfield- • and-- Goderich
Toynship.
A land severance was
requested by Charles
Mathers for a parcel of land
on lot 10, concession 1.
Council decided to deal with
the application as per
gt"hstionaire.
The Huron County
Federation of 'Agriculture
requested an increase in the
grant which the township has
been giving. Council passed
a motion to give a grant of
$800 this year..
Council passed a motion to
accept the tender of Pollard
Brothers for the supply of
calcium for the roads in 1981
subject to theapproval of the
M.T.C:
The Goderich Township
Women's Institute turned
over the sum of $738.25 to the
township to help pay for the
landscaping around the hall.
This money was made up of
$213.25 from the dessert card
party and $525 from the
variety concert.
A building permit
requested by Terry McGuire
for a house on plan 25 has
been referred to the building
inspector for investigation.
Approval was given to a
request from the -Goderich
Legion • Ladies Auxiliary to
hold a tag day at Zehrs.
The clerk was instructed to
contact " Muer Constrution
and have the error on the
printing of the memorial
plaque corrected.
The clerk was also in-
strucied to obtain,more
information on thap-
pointing of a drainage
superintendent and -report to
the next meeting.' A draft
agreement is to be prepared
for the` "operation of the
township owned water wells
too.
Accounts totalling
$21,575.18 were ordered paid.
Of this amount, $6,500 was
for restaurant equipment for
the new township hall; $4,900
was for the Maitland Valley
Conservation Authority
levy; and $3,000 was for the
Ausable . .Bayfiel;d Con-
se-rVation Authority levy.
Council , then adjourned
until April f; 48 p.m.

speaks to Circle
The Arthur Circle group of
Knox Presbyterian Church
held its- meeting last Monday
in the church parlor and
opened with a sing -song led
by Betty Coulter at the
'piano. •
President Grace Caineron
conducted the business part
of the meeting and a worship
service was led by Marj
Young and Shirley McCall.
Prayer was offered by Sadie
Gilders.
Winnie Bell and her group
introduced-- Grant Ellison
'who sang several selections,
accompanying himself on
guitar.
In keeping with 'Th'e' Year
of Disabled Persons' theme,
guest speaker was Stewart
Thomson, a social worker
and member of the Huron -
Perth • Association for
Parents . of Handicapped
Children. He stressed the
need for street and building
ramps for those people in
wheelchairs.
Pauline Knight thanked
Mr. Thomson.
Plans were made for a tea
and bake sale on Wednesday,

by recipients because of the
possible change in income.
SPECIAL MEETING

Goderich Township Council
on March 2. Thirty-nine
applications were received.
