Arena to be inspected
EXETER - The Ontario
ministry of labor has asked
that the 'Exeter arena be
inspectedto ensure that it is
not ii_dangeroLoollapsi
under heavy snow falls and
high winds.
A similar letter was sent in
1977, which eventually led .to
the local arena being con-
demned by the minstry.
However,the contents of the
most recent letter indicated
that , the ministry were
unaware . they had con-
demned the structure
because the one they wanted
inspected was the old arena
that was demolished to make
wayfor the South Huron rec
ng cent_,
•
Councillor Jay Campbell
said it was a great example
of one hand of government
not knowing what the other
was doing.
° It was decided to advice
the ministry that Exeter has
h new arena and to question
whether in fact they would
be required to spend $2,000.
