(Photo by Cath Wooden) Christmas parcel takes 54 day detour LISTOWEL - Mrs. Irene Simpson of Listowel has lost faith in'the Canadian postal system. .Postmen may go through rain and hail and the odd dog bite, but that's nothing.- compared to. what Mrs. Simpson's parcel went through. On Dece>rnber 4, Mrs. Simpson's daughter sent a Christmas parcel from Vernon, B.C. to Listowel. But somehow, the parcel got routed to. Orlando, Florida before Mrs. Simpson's daughter was able to trace the whereabouts of her'gift. The parcel may have been in the sunshine state long Marion'McCharles correspondent. Mrs. Gordon Finlayson spent a few days in Sarnia with Mr. and' Mrs. Rod. Finlayson and girls and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Finlayson and family. The -Seaforth Fire Department were unable to control the blaze that resulted in up to $20;000 in damages. Thefamily were unable to._ save" `any belongings and a car parked `beside. the frame house was also damaged: Seaforth firemen battled a chimney fire at the same home about two years ago.
