Jingette teams
start playoffs
Goderich ringette teams
have started playoff action
with both the Optimist
Seniors and Lions Juniors
beating Kurtzville in opening
round robin play.
On Saturday, the teams
travelled to Kurtzville. The
Optimists won a decisive 15-5
victory, and the Lions nipped
the hosts 8-6.
Robin McDonald was high
scores for Goderich with five
goals, and Allison Graham
notched four. Singles went to
Kim Black and Tracey
Wilson.
The Juniors came from a
3-0 defecit'in the first half to
tie it at five in the second half
and finally win the game 8-6-.
Lisa Kisch scored four goals
for Goderich, Tammy
Gibbons netted three, and
Kathleen Donnelly had a
single to round out the locals'
scoring.
On Sunday, the teams
hosted Kurtzville and this
time the Juniors took
command to win the game
12-6. Tammy Talbot and
Kathleen Donnelly each
scored three goals, and Lisa
:Kisch got two. Singles were
tallied by Sheila Donnelly,
Kari Parks, Kristen Egner,
and Stacey Rean.
The Optimist Seniors shut
mkt the visiting Kurtzville
team 9-0. Robin McDonald .
was again high store* with
four goals. Angie Alcock and
Allison Graham each netted
two, - and Tracey Wilson
scored once.
The Seniors start a best
two out -of three series
against Zurich this Sunday in
Zurich, while the Juniors are
in Kurtzville on Saturday to
play that team and Listowel
the same day.

from Andrew Telford, but he
fouled out early in the second
half.
Dave McKillop led the
Beal squad with 26 points.
The Vikings had a half-
time lead of 26 25, but did
not play well enough
defensively in the second
half to stay on top..
Coach Lynn Meyers is
looking forward to the last
part of the Vikings schedule,
beginning with the game
against Northwestern. The
Vikings will be tangling with
the top teams in the Con-
ference and Meyers feels his
fix wrestlers.

The GDCI wrestling team
had six wrestlers in the top,
six in their weight class in a
14: team'' tournament in
Sarnia last Saturday.
Tim Rawlings was sixth at
47.5 kilos while Rick
MacDonald and Steve Boyce
had fifth place finishes in the
80.5 and 87 ' kilo class
respectivelya . Steve Berry
was fourth in the unlimited
class. •
Dave. McDonald and Brian
Shewfelt both had . second
place finishes in their weight
divisions. McDonald had six
fights in the 75 kilo class,
winning five of them and
` losing only once, by a close -9
5 point score. Shewfelt
fought eight times in his 57.5
kilo class, and finished with
seven wins and one loss, a 2 -
1 decision. •
