Phone Sea forth 527-1819.-5 Real estate for sale Have I ever been a busy girl: It has taken me a full month to "settle in"! Partly settled.that is! By the tune I get to know where everything is situated, it will be time to pack up to go back home. This could drive a person nutty, you know, avid sometimes I think I have arrived!' Oh well, it keeps me out of mischief, takes my mind off the big topics of the day Which are usually un- pleasent. Like most people in this country, 3 have been very upset with the hostage crisis. Now that they have been released and are home with - their families, I just hope things settle down for all of us. There has been such an emotional high for the last month, I am just -drained! I know others, too, have sat and watcbod and listened to wnFsCounNry EAL ESTATE T.V. with tears of anger, sadness and later happiness - and a lump in their throats over these many bad months for the 52 'people involved. I hope they can settle back now, with no permanent damage to ruin their lives. The last few months have really been a drain for me. There have been so many things happen to worry a person, e.g. Door old 'Lizabeth - my car has had some expensive break- downs. I've. spent hours sitting around :freezing - in Windsor and down here too - while, waiting for repairs. (You can only stay so long in a restaurant ) Then, when you relax and think all is well, thieves sneak in and six or more Nies are stolen from the Pail, including Walt's big one. So THAT must be replaced, probably at three time the cost! When we arrived, the refrigerator refused to start. It was due . for retirement - we have no idea of the age of it, there have been a few repairs needed but the motor had been GOOD. The couch was never satisfactory - and we're not hard t please - so now we find a damp spot in one corner of a closet - another worry! I hadn't had time to shuffle, paint or play pool! How's that for misery? The good part is -that after the deep freeze when everything turned brown and dropped, we now have sunshine, green- grass growing like mad, flowers perking again- and the coughs and colds disap- pearing. We have 'a new fridge, new couch, new vim and vigour. Half the house is now livab c and I've shuffled, started painting and played pool a couple of niter. I even made a fantastic shot to win a game - so THAT gets the juices.flowing again. Thisisabig joke with us - "If y*li :can't_ find Queen,. she's at the pool hall playing with the guys." POOL that is! They have a nice big table at the Rec Hall here and the game takesa sharp eye and a steady hand. It is kind of like, painting - . you can't think of worries or troubles while you're doing it. So, why don't you try it, sometime? I have - a suggestion for cutting winter doldrums for the ladies (Olen too can participate): Turn off the T.V., start digging out boxes, drawers; cupboards, etc. for the hidden treasure therein. The mania for Flea Markets, Garage Sales, etc. is at a peak - or new high. I don't think you will make much on these items at the little markets but you may be able to add . to YOUR collection at these places. But first you have to start ' your collection: Many of -yo still have the kids' junk sitting around somewhere. You could organize it, search out the many items into ' different lots and if those kids don't want to be bothered with the stuff, then start your own collections. You'll soon find you are perked, up, interested - and interesting and having fun looking for the old throwaways. Old . art work, on paper, like the colorful shiny ads that were so ..popular, are rare- and very valuable. Old Christmas tree balls and ornaments, too, get a big price. The Canadian Heart Foun- dation calls these ' the risk factors of heart attack and. stroke , which together cause most of the deaths due to heart disease in Canada each year. A great number of these deaths are premature. Heart disease is the leading killer of men and women aged 45-64, usually at the peak of their earning power and_productiv_ity. The economic cost to Canada is staggering and there is nck, way of calculating the per- sonal tragedy to wives and children deprived of - husbands and fathers at an early.age. The Heart Foundation believes that by modifying these risk factors, it is possi- ble to reduce the chances of heart attack and stroke. Un- fortunately, there are cer- tain risk factors which can't be altered - heredity, sex and age. Some families have an inherited tendency toward heart attack or stroke. Men suffer heart attacks earlier in life than women, and the likelihood of heart-attack in- creases with age. The major cause of heart, attack and stroke is harden- ing of the arteries - arteriosclerosis. This is a progressive disease in which fatty deposits accumulate on the walls of the arteries, much like the buildup of lime in a water pipe over the years.. Eventually, the artery channels become sp narrow that blood can no longer reach the heart or brain centres. The result is a heart attack or stroke. Everyone from young children to great grand- parents, has arteriosclerosis to a degree. It can begin ear- ly in life, but its development varies in individuals and it can be slowed by controlling the coronary risk factors.
