The GDCI midget boy'
basketball team lost 28-15 to
South Huron in Exeter Fri-
day: The loss was the fourth
of the season for the young
Vikings, against three wins.
Greg Hearn had 15 points
. and Bob,:Blackburn had 10
for.South Huron,
Joe Melady paced the Vik-
ing attack with seven points.
Geof Chase with four, Kent
Feagan with three and Mike
McCallum -with one point
were other Vikings to hit the
scoresheet.
The game was played with

four straight time quarters,
thus accounting for the low
score.
Coach Myles Murdock was
not pleased with the Vikings
play. After scoring eleven
points in the first quarter,
the Vikings were able to
score only five more points
in the last three, quarters.
The Vikes were unable to get
the ball to the open man and
failed to work together as a
team.
The Viking next league
game is a week from
Thursday in Stratford
against the Northwestern
Huskies.
Bridge Club scores
.Goderich Bridge Club
action featured ten tables in
play Tuesday night.
On the North South side,
Mary Donnelly and Eleanor
Erskine combined to take
top honors with 981 points.
Jean Cook and Verna Worthy
placed second with 811
points. Cathy McDonald and
Pat Stringer came in third
with 78 points, and placing
fourth with 74 points was the
team of Theresa Dbnatis and
Arlene G ibbons.
On the East West side, first
place was won by Auleen
Curry and Jean Papernick
who had 94 points. Betty and
Ray Fisher placed second
with 901 points. Nuala
Conlon and Kay Duncan
were next with 77 points, and
Gord Rutledge and Rick
Somers werefourth with74.

Tractor pullers gather for awards banquet
Over 250 tractor pullers
and friends attended the
Western Ontario Tractor
Pullers annual awards
banquet and dance on
Saturday, Jaaaary'31 at the
Bayfield Arena.
The Bayfield Lions and
Lioness catered the meal
and music was provided by
Star Trex.
Following the dinner,
president 'Ralphe Thede
presided over the awards
ceremony. In the 5,500 pound'
class, he presented awards
to Jo Mason of Princeton
who was tops, taking the
Fleming's Feed Mill of
Clinton award. Stan Crumb
of Palmerston was second,
taking an award . from
Chisholm Fuels of Goderich
and Lucknow. Third place
went to Grant Davis of
Arkona, with a Fleming's
Feed Mill trophy.
In the 8,000 stock class,
Wray Popp awarded the
top three winners who were:
Wayne Whalls of Shedden,
with the Reavie Farm
Equipment of Lucknow
award; Larry Pentland of
Dungannon, with the Hodges
Killing Ltd. of Dungannon
trophy; Russell Simpson of
Grand Valley, the Fleming's
Feed Mill award.
Bert Evans announced the
7,000 truck winners and
