14 wins, three losses and two.
ties. If they win their last
regular season game against
Lucan next Thursday night
in Goderich, they will end up
as the first place Atom team
in the Shamrock League.
Tuesday curling progresses
Competition is getting
keen as Tuesday Ladies
curling progresses. ,This
could easily be detected by
the sudden hush as a tricky
shot was about to'be played
and the jubilant- squeals
,heard when a double take-
out was expertly executed.
The team of Phylis Durst
took a commanding lead
early in the game, only to see
Mary Arin Dempsey's team
fight their way back to a
near win. It was , second
Joanne Hood's terrific draw
weight that gave that initial
lead to the Durst. team.
• Mother's natural instinct
to let her daughter succeed
allowed Sue White to break a
tie for the win in the ninth
end. After all, we couldn't
allow Sue to • develop a
complex. Shelagh Sully and
Gertie Wilson hammed it. up
trying to rattle the opposition
with a little success.
Fortunately, Lynn
Todgham redeemed -herself
infinite . of Betty Moore's
beautiful take-outs. But best
of all to watch was Kay and
Sue fighting it out to see who
was top dog.
FLASH: ,The latest on Kay.
King's long underwear is she
is now going topless. Maybe
that's why Eleanor Erskne's
team wasn't concentrating
and lost to Nancy MacKinon.
We are pleased to report vice
Vicki Culbert was back in
voice, telling jokes and
generally sparring - her'
teammates on to victory.
