Comuumity Memorial Hall.

Following dinner, the
president, Ross Robinson
held _a- short meeting; The
financial statement was
given by the treasurer, Mrs.
Eleanor Bradnock. It was
announced that the Silver
Tops had joined the Zone 8
USCG.
Plans were made to hold
the next dinner on February
11 at 12:15 p.m: and the com-
mittee to set it up consists of
Mrs. Donald Haines, Mrs.
Emerson Rodger, Mrs.
Elliott Lapp and Mrs. Frank
Raithby. These who brought
wads this fi w was ekiri t_o
bring desserts to the next
dinner.
Ross Robinson showed the
film on Madeira. It was very
colourful and interesting. It
was shown with the new pro-
jector that the Silver Tops,
bad recently purchased. -
Following the film, shuf-
fleboard was enjoyed by
many of the 45 present.
Membership is open to all
persons 60 years old or over.
Come out and enjoy shuf-
fleboard or ` cards every
afternoon.
4-H NEWS
The first meeting of
Auburn I, 4-11 dub, Ready -
Get Set -Sew, will be held
Monday, January 26 at the
home of the leader, Mrs.
George Collins at 6:30 p.m.
Any girl or boy wishing to
join this club please contact
Mrs. Collins or Mrs. Doug
Clharnney or come to the first
Members of the Auburn
Couples' Club and their
guests enjoyed an evening of
square dancing on. January
10 at the Hullett Central
School. Twenty-four couples
learned some basic steps for
modern Square dancing and
participated in several sets.
The program and lunch was
planned by committee
members, Mr. and Mrs. Nor-
man Wightman, Mr. and
Mrs. Gerald McDowell and
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Gross.

Rodger visisted last Satur-
day with Mr. and Mrs. Peter
de Groot of RR6 Goderich.
Winners at the weekly
euchre party held in the
Auburn Community
Memorial Hall last week
were: novelty, Frank Van
Dorgen; high lady, •Wendy
Powell; low lady, Mrs. Tom
Jardin; high man, Ted Mills
and low man, Gordon Gross.
There were 11 tables in play.
Everyone is welcome.
Fred Wagner is a patient
ifiClinton Hospital. The com-
munity wishes him a speedy
recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald
Haines attended the funeral
of her brother, Arnold
Rathbun at Guelph last
weekend.
Mrs. rieanor Bradnock,
along with 'Mrs. Norman
Coultes and Mrs. Ross Hig-
gins of Belgrave, Mrs. Peter
Chandler of St. Helens and
Mrs. Cecil Elliott of Clinton
went to Mrs. Willis
Matheson's home near Em-
bro last Monday for a Board
of Directors meeting of the
Women's Institute.

Fowler and the late Wilbert

Funeral services were
held on Friday, • January 16
at the Tasker Funeral Home
hie Blyth for Mrs. Ed Davies
who passed away in her 80th
year at the Rammeloo Rest
Home in Blyth on January
14.
She was the former Anne
Marjorie Monck, beloved
wife of Ed Davies of Auburn.
She moved to this communi-
ty 34 years ago and was a
member of .St. Mark's
Anglican Church, . the
Anglican Church Women,
subu„ Weme s _ Tnnctitnte
and the, Auburn Hor-
ticultural Society.
She is survived by her hus-
band; three brothers, Herb
Monck of London; Kenneth
Monck f London and Morris
Monck 'l of Hamilton; two
sisters, Mrs. Norman
(Beatrice) Taylor of Bel-
mont and Mrs. Clifford
(Carolyn) Bastla of London;
and several nieces and
nephews.
The Regal Chapter of the
Eastern Star held a service
on Friday evening at the
funeral home. •
The Reverend William
Craven, rector of St. Mark's
Anglican Church, conducted
the funeral service.
Pallbearers were Donald
Haines, Thomas Haggitt,
Thomas Hallam and James
Schneider.
Spring interment will be in
Dorchester Cemetery.

January 21 at 10 a.m. and
donations were received to
send a WMS In Memoriam
card to Ed Davies in
memory of his late wife who
had been a member for
many years.
The study book was taken
by Mrs. Sanderson and she
chose a New Year's anessage
on "Faith - What is in your
Hand"

memorial service was led by

SNOWMOBILE
CLUB
The Auburn Snowmobile
Club held a meeting last Fri-
day evening at the Blyth
Conservation Club House
with the president, Doug
McDonald in charge.
A discunsion took place
about the Snowmobile Poker
Rally to be held on Sunday,
January 25 at Auburn,
Registration is to be held at
the Auburn Community
Memorial Hall from 11 a.m.
to 1 p.m. Trails were outlin-
ed and will be approximately
30 miles long. Prizes will be
given for the top three poker
hands and there will be
many other door prizes. It
was announced that the -
Auburn and District Lions
Club would be in charge of
the lunch booth in the hall
and 'it will be open all day
during the rally. After a run
with the snowrobilen, a
barbecue was held for all.

The Auburn Presbyterian
Women's Missionary Society
met for its January meeting
at the home of Mrs. Eleanor
Bradnock. The president,
Mrs. Wilfred Sanderson was
