who died in Wingham Hos-
pital on Wednesday,G�January
14th in his 66th year. He is
survived by his wife, the
former Belle Swan, one son,
Don : of -Courtright and one
daughter, Marion Salo, Lon-
don, nine grandchildren, and
one brother, Ben of Dungan-
non. He was predeceased by
his parents; and one sister.
Mrs. Mary Cooke.
Funeral service and' corn-

MacKenzie and McCreath
Funeral home on Friday,
January 16th. Temporary en-

The death of Wilbert A.
Thom occurred at his his,
home in Colborne Township
on January 16th in his 74th
year. He is survived by his
wife, the former. Hazel Good,
two daughters, Mrs. Audrey
'llivett of Dungannon and
Mrs. Helen Anderson of
Calgary, Alberta and two
sons, Jack of R. 5 Goderich
and Doug R. 2 Goderich; 19
•grandchildren and one great
'granddaughter. Sympathy s
'extended to the family.
Thecommunity was shock-
ed and saddened on Sunday
morning to hear of . the
sudden, death of Glenn L.
Anderson. Glenn was the
operator of a snowmobile
which struck a truck parked
on the shoulder of county
road # 1, one mile north of
Dungannon. Glenn was born
in Goderich on April 13. 1959
to John C. (Bus) and Cynthia
Anderson and was the
youngest in a family of six.
Besides his parents. he is
survived by three sisters,
Gail, Mrs. F. Huber; Cheryl
and Carole, Mrs. B. Bech-
ard. all of Goderich and two
brothers, Barry off Dungan-
non and John of Goderich;
his paternal grandmother,
Mrs. Tom Park and nine
nieces and nephews. The
body rested at the MacKen-

Home, Lucknow where serv-
ice and committal were held
Tuesday. January 20th at 2
p.m. Temporary entomb-
ment is at Dungannon Maus-
oleum with final resting
place Dungannon Cemetery.

A family gathering ' was
held on Sunday at the home
of Ron and Michelle Brind-
ley. the occasion being a
'supper for Leonard and
Violet Brindley. to celebrate
their 23rd wedding anniver-
sary.
Mrs. Sandra D'Aoust has
• returned to her home follow-
ing surgery and 10 days
hospitalization in London:

Mrs. Gordon Saunders on
the sudden passing of her
two brothers on Monday,
January 12 in Wiarton. Wib
Kelly, who was in- his 36th
year, .suffered a heart seiz-
ure. When his brother, Ken.
who was in his 46th year,
discovered the body he is
believed to have died from
asphyxiation due to choking.
Their mother. Mrs. Ivy Kel-
ly, wasadmitted to Wiarton
hospital, suffering from
shock. Upon her release she
will be staying with Ms. and
Mrs. Saunders.

Brookside School. This has
been a surprisingly quiet
week.
The Goderich'.Orientation
Night went over smoothly
and the students are almost
finished picking their cours-
es. •

injuring it at home.

again after being unable to
drive for a week or so since

present.

with many humorous wa4rs.
Minutes .of the last meet-
ing and the treasurer's re-
port were given with a
. number of the hooks still for
sale.
The ladies are starting
their quilting with one put in
al Mrs. Graham'McNec's on
Monday and finished on
Tuesday. Another quilt will
be pot,in at Mrs. McNee's on
Monday, January .19.
Plans were made to have a
card party during the winter
school break.
Mrs. Olive Blake read a
lovely. card from Mrs. Mollie
Whiteside, of Ireland, wish-
ing all a Happy Holiday
season.
