Barbara Bettles and her group were in charge of the program. A welcome and a chuckle opened, the meeting followed by a New Year's poem' read by Dorothy Whitely. The prayer was offered by Phyllis Cox. The theme for the meeting was 1981, the International Year of Disabled Persons. It was pointed out that disabilities may be permanent or temporarily seen or unseen. Each UCW member was asked to name a disability. The months of this year are divided into six study groups and each consist of YOU'LL DO BETTER AT A&P two months. January and February will. look at transportation and ac- cessibility ;.March and April, housing; May, June, 'aids; July and August, recreation and leisure; September and October, employment; November, December, education and prevention. Nugent and Mrs. Gordon Finlayson had charge and int'ruced the new study book. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Mc - Charles hosted the Huron - Bruce Arts and Crafts Inc.. sponsors of the Ripley Craft Show to a pot luck dinner tin Saturday evening . The an- tiques and craft show and sale will he• held on July 24 and 25 in the Ripley Com- munity Centre. New mem- bers added to the ten found- ing committee members are Mr: and Mrs. Bob Markham and Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Milne. The Ripley Lions Club have promised full support and help as the show has grown to such proportions. . The ten members who at- tended the dinner were am ong the first to phone their pledge of one hundred dol- lars to ' the Participation Lodge tel-a•thcin and chal- lenged other groups to do the same.
