James Wesley Taman of 7
Bennett Street, East,
Goderich died Wednesday,
January 14 at his residence
attheage of43.
He ins born in Clinton on
September 9, 1937 to Wesley
Irwin and Margaret Marion
(Gillespie) Taman.
On July 19, 1958 he married
Eleanor Mary Carrick ° in
Westfield.
Following their marriage,
the couple took up residence
in Goderich.
The late Mr. Taman was a
truck driver with Frank
Kling Ltd. of Seaforth.
He was anassociate
member of the Royal
Canadian Legion, " Branch
420, Blyth
He was a member of the,
Pentecostal Assembly,
Goderich.
He is survived by his wife;
three children, James
Harvey, Heather Mary and
Sally Margaret Amber, all at
home; his mother, Mrs.
Margaret Taman of Blyth;
one sister, Mrs. Delmer
(Judy) Sproul of Dungan-
non; and two brothers, Lyle
of London and Richard of
Belgrave.
A funeral service and
committal were held at
Stiles Funeral Home -in
Goderich on Saturday,
January 17 at 1 p.m. The
Reverend ,(Austin G'edcke
officiated.'
Interment was in Blyth
Union Cemetery.
WORTHY JOSEPH
FOWLER
Worthy Joseph Fowler of
R.R. 5 Goderich (Colborne
Township) died • Thursday,
January 15 in Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital
at the age of 73.
He was born in Colborne
T$wnship on August 10, 1907
to John and Elizabeth
(Feagan) Fowler.
On May 27, 1942 he
married Dorothy Anderson
in Auburn. She surviveshim.
The late Mr. Fowler
worked as a miller at Purity
Flour Mill in Goderich. He
.resided in Colborne Town-
ship his whole life except for
five years between 1942 and
1947, when he lived in
Goderich.
He was a member of
Victoria Street United
Church in Goderich.
Besides his wife, he is
survived by one son, Donald
of Glen - Williams; one
daughter, Mrs. Lyle
(Elaine) Brown of Goderich;
two sisters, Mrs. Olive
Benjamin of Toronto and
Mrs. Iona Beadle.of Auburn;
and four granddaughters.
A funeral service was held
at Stiles Funeral Hone in
Goderich, on Saturday,
January 17 at 3 p.m. The
Reverend John b.M. Wood
officiated.
Interment was in Colborne
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Eugene
Ryan, C-ordon Beadle, Elgin
Fowler, William Anderson,
John McClinchey and
George Haggitt.
Flowir bearers were Hugh
McCrostie, Henry Brindley,
Donald Sowerby and Charles
Brindley.

ALEXANDER THOM
Wilbert Alexander Thom
of Colborne Township died
Friday, January 16 at his
residence atathe age of 73.
He was bom in Colborne
Township on May 4, 19197 to
William and Jane (Coulter)
Thom.
On August 27, 1930- he
married Hazel Good in
Goderich She survives him.
The late Mr. Thom was a
farmer.
He was a member of Knox
Presbyterian Church,
Goderich.
Besides his wife, he is
survived by two daughters,
Mrs. Helen Anderson of
Calgary, Alberta and Mrs.
Arnold (Audrey) Rivett of
Dungannon; two sons, Jack
of R.R. 5 Goderich and Doug
of R.R. 2 Goderich; one
sister, Mrs. Feme Rintoi`il of
St. Marys; 19 grandchildren;
and one great-
granddaughter.

He was predeceased by
one son, Jim.
A funeral service and
committal were held at
Stiles Funeral Home in
Goderich on Monday,
January 19 at 2 p.m. The
Reverend G.L. Royal of-
ficiated.
Interment was in Colborne
Township.
WILLIAM PATRICK
LANNAN
William Patrick Lannon of
St. Mary's Hospital in
London died Wednesday,
January 14 in that hospital at
theage of 92.
He was born in- Ashfield
Township on November 1,
1888 to William and Bridget
(Gunn )'Lannan.
On June 14, 1922 he
married Catherine Mary
Martin in Kingsbridge. She
predeceased him on October
26,1979.
The late Mr. Lannan
retired from fanning in 1955.
His friends remember that
he was a great entertainer on
the violin and could amuse
people for hours with his
story telling.
He was a member of St.
Joseph's Roman Catholic
Church in Kingsbridge.
He is survived by seven
children, Mrs. Wilamina Hill
of Scarborough, 'Clare of
Perkinsfield, Mrs., Dan
(Rosemary) Bass of West
Hill, William (Bud) of
Woodstock, Mrs. Don
(Delina) Baetz of St. Agatha,
and Mrs. Ian (Donna)
Parker and Eldon, both of
London; 30 grandchildren:
and seven great-
grandchildren.
The body of the late Mr.
Lanigan tested at Stiles
Funeral Home in Goderich.

He worked as a printer in
the commercial 'printing
business.
He was a member of the
United Church.
He was predeceased by his.
wife Helen.
He is survived by one
daughter, Mrs. Lenore Greer
of Toronto.

at the Giffen-Mack Chapel in
Toronto on Tuesday,
January 13.

John Allen of Islington,
formerly of Goderich, died at
Princess Margaret Hospital
in Toronto on Friday,
December26.
He was born In Goderich,
th'e son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Allen who were
lifelong residents of this
town.
He was a member of
Kilwinning Masonic Lodge
A.F. and A. M. No. 565.
He is survived by his wife,
Georgina (MacKay) Allen
and one brother, Frank Allen

The" body of the late Mr.
Allen rested at .the Turner
and Porter Yorke Chapel,
2357 Bloor Street West in
Toronto on Sunday,
December 28 and Monday,
December 29. A funeral
service was held at 11 a.m.
Tuesday, December30.

dale Cemetery in Stratford.

Mrs. Mary Foran of
Huronview, formerly of
Goderich, died in Huronview
on Sunday, January 18 at the
age of 93.
She was born in St.
Augustine on May 9, 1887 to
Patrick and. Mary Anne
(Kearney) Pollard.
She was a member of St.
Peter's Roman Catholic
Church, Goderich.
She was predeceased by
her husband, William Foran
and four brothers, Thomas,
Joseph, Edward and Oswald
Pollard.
She is survived by several
nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass was held at
St. Peter's Church on
Tuesday, January 20 at 11
am. The Reverend Father

snowmobile accident.
He is survived by his

John of 'Goderich; three'
sisters, Mrs. Gail Huber,
Cheryl Anderson and Mrs.
Carol Bechard, all of
Goderich; his grandmother,
Mrs. Thomas . Parks of
Dungannon; and nine nieces
and nephews. •

McCreath Funeral Home in
Luc know ,on Tuesday,
January 19 at 2 p.m. Mr'. -

Frank Heaton of 65

died in Kitchener -Waterloo
Hospital on Thursday,

illness at the age of 79.

Kinahan was a daughter of
the late Michael O'Connor
and Nellie Sullivan and was
born tit Ashfield Township on
March 15, 1900 -She received
her elementary 'education at
St. Joseph's Separate
School, Kingsbridge, and
after graduating) from `
Goderich_-_Collegiate, she
enrolled at London Normal
Ito train as a teacher.
Foll wing her graduation,
she taught at St. Augustine,
Ambleside, St. Clements,
London, St. Marys and ,
Kingsbridge. She retired in
1965.
Mrs: Kinahan . was a
member of St, Augustine
Ronan Catholic Chuarh and
the Catholic Women's
League of ' St. Joseph's,
Kingsbridge and St.
Augustine.
She - married Augustine
Kalahari on October 10, 1923
at St. Joseph's Church,
Kingsbridge. He predeceas-
ed
aed her in 1958.
She is survived by one
daughter, Mrs. Maurice
(Mary) Edwards of Byron;
two sons, William of RR2

Lambeth and 13 grand,

rested at The Currie -Walker
Funeral Home, Wingham
where family prayers were
recited Wednesday evening.
Removal was made
Thursday . to St. Augustine
Roman Catholic Church for
service at 3 p.m. conducted
by the Reverend Father Ed
Dentinger: Interment follow-
ed in St. Augustine Roman
Catholic Cemetery.

Board has two new members
this year. One is kJim
McDade, principal of - St.
Mary's School, and the other
is towa council member Jim
Sebes.:
Bob Cornish was named

first meeting of the new year
last Thursday. Cornish also
served as chairman in 1980.
The recreation com-
mittees were also set up at
last Thursday's meeting.
