maker for the seniors to use.

Elizabeth and Prince Phillip.
Mrs. Deeves presented a
motion. for Hanel McCreath
and Everett Mdlwain to be
in charge of spending the
grant of $9,420 received from
the New Horizons program.
Mrs. Lobb reminded
everyone that Goderich
Township well be celebrating
its 150th anniversary in five
years. She is looking for old
family photographs for the
historiialsoe%ty. Mrs. Lobb
and Alice Porter are the
curators for the WI and they
presented a display .of the
Tweedsmuir history project.

Reg. Riehl winners at cards.

p.m. weather permitting.

On Sunday, January 4 the
Millian family `held their
Christmas family gathering
and turkey dinner in Col-
borne Township Hall. Over
45 were present for the year-
ly family get-together and
the delicious dinner.
Relatives came from Lon-
don, Bayfield, Auburn, Col-
borne Township and district.
Everyone had a wonderful
time at the reunion but it was

when bird feeders are.

Terence Hunter reported the

The sympathy of the com-
munity is extended to the
family of the late Allan
Robinson of Goderich who
died suddenly on Saturday.
Mr. Robinson was a resident
of Colborne Township for
several years, residing at
Dunlop Corner.
BRIDGE CLASSES
There was keen interest in
the last bridge classes that
were held in Colborne
Township Hall, sponsored by
Colborne Township Recrea-
tion Committee. Many who
availed themselves of the op-
portunity of learning or
brushing up on bridge have
expressed the desire to con-
tinue.
Plansare that bridge
classes will be. starting in
Colborne Township Hall
about the last week in
January for brushing up on
beginners' bridge and star-
ting into intermediate
bridge. If there are enough
interested in beginners'
,bridge .the committee will
try to have a separate class
in this.

There were seven tables in
Goderich . Bridge Club 'play
Tuesday night ' with . the
average score being 84.
In first place on the North
South side was the team of.

Egener with 93 points. Barb
Howe and Marian Lane
followed with 91 points. In
third spot there was a tie
between the teams of
Theresa Donatis and Arlene
Gibbons, and Dawna Sproule

points.
Mary Donnelly and
Eleanor Erskine won the
East West side with 1101/
points. Nuala Conlan and
Kay Duncan came In second
with 101 points, and Auleen
Curry and Jean Papernick
placed third with 88'/2 points.

WI will hold a card party on
January 15 in the township
Mall at 8 pm... Ladies are
asked to bring lunch and

Church news.
A bulletin, Com-
munications to enhance
pastor -congregation
dialogue was handed out to
each member of the
Holmesville United Church
at the Sunday morning
service.

Rev. Charles Scott ex-
pressed his disappointment
for missing the January 4
service., but said he was
happy to at last be with the
Holmesville congregation.
He spoke to the children
about keys and told them
that the Bible is .the most
important keyyto life.
Jim and Murray Lobb
received the offering and the
minister spoke about being
good neighbors.
Note: On January 25, the
annual meeting will be held
duringthe worship service.
The Goderich Township
Recreation Committee weir.
& conducting a seminar
entitled Tax Management
and Estate Planning,
sponsored by the ministry of
agriculture, on Wednesday,
January 21 from 11 am to
3:30 pm. The seminar will be
held in the township hall and
everyone is invited to attend
and have quesions answered
concerning family :natters.
Please bring your own lunch,
coffee and donuts will be
provided.
From January 12 until
March 20, the, Holmesville
Public Shool will operate
from 9 am gntil 3:10 pm.
Dismissal time, is now 25
minutes earlier. Lunch will
finish at 12:45 instead of 1 pm
and the afternoon recess will
only be ` a" five minute
washroom break.
The purpose of the time
change is to ensure that all
students arrive home safely
before dark during the un-
predictable -winter weather.
School principal Ron
McKay reports that a
number `of parents have not
been receiving the monthly
newsTetter- -the pas17 a
copy has been sent home
with the eldest member of
each family, but this month
each student will be given a
newsletter in hopes than one
will reach home.
All money and -or pictures
were asked to be returned to
the school by January 12.
This Friday, January 16
the students will be skating
at the Goderich Arena from 1
to 3 pm. They are asked to be
sure than alt skates have
guards on them to prevent
any injuries enroute.
Parents are also welcome to
attend.
The (ntano March of
Dimes Ability Fund Cam-
paign will be conducted at
the school from Janhai ,26
to 30. The eldest member of
each family will receive an
envelope to place coins in.,
With this year being the
Year of the Disabled Person, -
everyone is asked to give
generously.
On February 13, the
students will take part in a
skating party at the Clinton
Arena. Se -cord -term -reports -
will be issued on March 17
and the Spring Break will
' tale place from March 23 to
27.
Mr. McKay reminds
kinder garten class parents
that the class calendar
rains the same regardless
of school closures. For in-
stance, if Class A came
today, school is closed
_ tomorrow, Class A will come
again the next day.
