Helpful
hint
An ill person who is
confined to bed at home
and too ill to sit up at
mealtime can still enjoy a
nourishing meal in liquid
form. Most foods can be
made into a thin slurry
with use of a blender. The
slurry and soups, milk,
tea, etc, should be poured
into a cream pitcher. The
lip on the pitcher will stop
the liquid from dribbling
onto the bedclothes and
makes it easier to drink
than from a cup. A glass
or plastic straw can be
used for sipping non-food
liquids.
