Did you ever waken and wonder• about the time? I have, often, and there's, nothing so aggravating as to hear the television person tell you it's twenty past the hour. What hour Why couldn't they just say it was twenty after six or whatever and not spoil your day? We don't all wake up at the same time so we want to know the time, now. I recall my daughter-in-law i many, many years ago 1 asking me to stay when she was in hospital, "Don is hard to awaken," she said. Later .1 asked Walt, "who's going to waken me , . ". I always had trouble waking up but "Mr. Always Up Early" said, "Tell Ourself you want to wakenat six a.m. and you will." I had my doubts, but I tried it and sure enough I was awake in time to turn off the alarm. It ' worked like a charm -and often worked since then, but if you take 10 or 15, minutes ' to fall asleep you will be late waking up. I had a big old .. cat who could read amy thoughts. Five minutes after I was to have wakened he would be patting my face. He ,. really did. Lots of times I would open my, eyes -just a slit -to see what he would do next, and often he would try the claw trick - if you didn't respond righ away the next dig would be a little deeper. I often caught him with his face close to mine trying to see if my eyes were ..opening. When I started to laugh at .him he would , jump around like a puppy -you could feel his G -y clarich Y %w✓ The Board of Directors of West Wawanosh Mutual Insurance Com- pany are pleased to announce the opening of an office in Clinton at 11 Victoria Street, operated by Delmar Sproul who has been an :.gent for the Company for, 15 years. So, if you have trouble waking up either get yourself a good cat -or dog-er start talk- ing to yourself. I've been' going through papers and letters -I'm a keeper from away hack. I came upon a small letter 1 had, received when I had.talked about my getting lost nbt too far from home -and of my experiences. A lady wrote how much she enjoyed Hound N' About -especially about the Little lakes episodes. She said when going through they always turned left to their home east of Dungannon and daughter Betty asked her dad what would happen if he 'turned ' right instead. He told her if she made the right turns she.would come out on the highway corner - East of Carlow. So next day on her gray home she ed right. It was 6 p.m. when she arrived home... She was smiling and told about ending up in Londesboro. • She didn't recognize the road between ownship ildr ns'J ure Auburn and Clinton and father on turned hack and found she was in Londesburo. She had really enjoyed getting lust and later on "took us over the same roads starting on Base line and we enjoyed it too. So we also enjoyed your trips." A nice letter and I en- joyed reading it again. So if you want a nice drive start out in Berirniller.turn any direction -arid you will enjoy your jaunt - you can't really get lost -you'll either end up on Highway 21 ur near Clinton or a few other places but you'll enjoy it. I haven't tried it this year but I will. How about that hail storm we had Fri-. day'! It was the first tiine I recall watching balls of ice bouncing five or six feet on hit- ting the ground. Was I ever, excited! I hadn't seen hail that large in thirty or' inure Years. I remembered windows at the hospital being broken also cars badly damaged, That end of town had the big stones we missed then( on the other side of town. It is funny with hail stones -you aren't surprised at the little ones, but you really panic when the big ones start poun- ding down. Another thing -some parts of town may not have had any hail at all -how about that' Are you thinking about an entry for the big parade?
