Luncheon held
Alexander & Marine Hospital Auxiliary
members and their friends enjoyed a
delicious luncheon at St. George's Anglican
Church on Thurs. June 11.
A short business session was held, when it
was announced that $1500 had been raised at
the recent Tag Day. 'Pickets were
distributed to the members for a draw to be
held on Monday, Oct. 19. . Three prizes of-
fered are 1st a Panasonic V,('•R., 2nd an
R.C.A.- 14" colour T.V. and 3rd a Panasonic
A.M. & F.M. portable cassette Stereo.
'Pickets are $2 each or three for $5.00- They
will be on sale at the Mall and various stores
on the square. Proceeds are for Hospital
Equipment.
Following the business, Mr. and Mrs.
Stanley Wheeler delighted their audience
with slides and commentary on their recent
trip "Up the Am<nazon".
Meetings will resume in September.

Picnic held

The ladies of Unit II,•Victoria St. United
Church Women, met last Wednesday, .at
Harbour Park, for their last meeting until
September with a picnic lunch at noon.
'!'here were twenty ladies present and
answered the roll call with a house -hold
hint. Leona McBride opened the meeting
with a reading ;'Be A Tugboat" which was
quite appropriate, as we were overlooking
the harbour and the boats. Helen Edith
Elliott had a short devotion which included a
reading "A loving Heart and 'a Listening
Ear". Velma Linfield. gave the treasurer's
report and Dorie Horton read the minutes.
During 'the business, members were
reminded of the annual Strawberry super to
be held on June 24. Rev. Wood will be having
his farewell service on June 21st at 11:15
a.m. Benmiller Church service, •for that
day, will be at 10 o'clock.
On Mon., June 15 is Canip Experience at
Menetesung Park beginning at 9 a.m. with a
sing -a -long led by Anna Keys of Goshen
United Church. Victoria St. U.C. will be ser-
ving coffee and.donut holes around 9:30. You
are • asked to bring along a lawn chair and
the noon meal will be pot -luck.
The Goderich Power Squadron staged sail -past for local boaters Sunday (above). A good
crowd (below) was on had to watch. The Squadron is a volunteer organization that teaches

Doherty family winners
of .2nd fort Albert rally
Paul, Trish and Katie Doherty of Port
Albert won the second annual Port Albert
Car Rally Saturday.
They won a trophy and a Port Albert
Plate for scoring 64 of a possible 70 points.
Contestants, obeying the rules of the
road, paid $5 to enter the rally around port
Albert.
They were given a set of questions ( puns
and riddles) -to solve and find their way
with. Scores were based• on correct
answers - to the questions, number of
kilometers travelled and the,tirne taken to
complete the course.
last year's , winners Jim and Donna
Haydon organized this year's race and the
Dohertys are responsible for next years
race.
Jim and Barb Hawkins and Phil and
Dianne Foster drove a 1957 Chevrolet to a•
second place finish and received a Port
Albert Mug.
Roy and Bessie Bellinger and Susan and
Terry Worrsell finished third and also
received. mugs.
A special prize was awarded to John
Crawford for answering the history
question.
Money raised by the event went to pay
for free refreshments and hotdogs.
Port Albert will hold a Fun Day July 4:
