rich resident nly ata e 43 Langlois dies su -MR. SIMON PETER LANGLOIS Mr. Simon Peter Langlois of Goderich, :lied at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital May 31 at the age of 43. Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia on December 1; 1943, he was the son of the late Alex Langlois and the former Mary Samson. He was a supervisor at DonTar and was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic ('hurch, He was a member of Goderich Men's Fastball league, the -Royal Cana- dian legion Branch 109, Goderich and the Goderich Umpires Association. Surviving are his wife, the former Vickie ('hessell; children Kim, Grant arid Michelle, all. at home. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and was the sun -in-law of Doris and Grant Ellison. Alssf surviving are 10 brothers and sisters; Carol [Mrs. Jackie McPherson t of Sydney, Nova Scotia; Alex and his wife Mary of Sydney; Rose ( Mrs. Toni Cole ) of Toronto; Wayne and his wife Rose of Sydney; Charmaine i Mrs. Leonard Chaisson lof Sydney Lorraine i Mrs. Billy McMullen t of Sydney; Willy and his wife ('olleen of Chatham; David and his wife :Marilyn of Sydney; Debbie i Mrs. Billy levangfet of Sydney and Cathy i Mrs. Aubrey Narrow•• of Sydney. Also surviving • are sisters-in-law Darlene,. Kate, Debbie, "l'arnmy and f• milieg. The funeraliass was held at St. Peter's Church, Goderich on Wednesday, .June 3 .with Father Joseph Hardy officiating. Born in Montreal on December 1, 1926„ Mrs. De ,Jong was the daughter of Isidore Thiviesque and the former .Dorila Ssibourin. 'Mrs. I)e Jong was a housewife and was a member of St. Peter's Rornarr Catholic ('hurch as well as Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary to Branch 109, Goderich. Surviving are her husban George I)e Jong;son Mark Schmidt u i-lamilton; step -sons Tom and his wife Karen of Lon- don; Gerard and his wife Cathy of Goderieh; stepdaughters Rita and her hus- band Peter Cliff of Stratford and Ann and her husband ferry Schoemaker of Goderich. Five grandchildren also survive. Surviving brothers and sisters are Rial, Maurice and Rene Thivierge all of Mon- treal and Rosette Cht)rboneau and Rita Jo- doin both of Montreal. t She was predeceased by her first hus- band Howard Schmidt; one son Robert. Royal Canadian Legion and Ladies Aux- iliary to Branch 109 held a memorial sec•- vice Thursday evening at 7 pm and prayers were said at 8:30 pm. They • were the daughters of Peter Ian Cliff and the former Rita Bernadette De Jung. They were the grandchildren of George De Jong of Goderich and Pet Marie Cliff of Wyoming. Born in Ashfield Township on March 27, 1902, she was the daughter of the late Joseph MacAdam and the former Johanna MacDonald. She was a housewife and a member of the Knox Presbyterian Church. She was predeceased by her husband Christopher Brownlee; brothers Jim, Neil and Adam MacAdam; sisters Bea Joslin, Kate Oke and Ruth Gamrlpbell. The funeral service was held at the Mc- Callum and Palla Funeral Home on Mon- day, June 8 ,with Rev. G.L. 'Royal officiatirfg. Frank Nagle, 49, of Red Deer, Alberta, son-in-law of .Joy Harrision, of Goderich, was caught in a fireball as he tried to rescue the driver of a pickup truck which collided with a propane truck, three kilometres east of Salrmn Arm B.C., ,lune 14, 1984, Naegle suffered third degree burns to 50 d per cent''ot his body after he and four others worked to free the driver of the pickup. They rescued the man, who later died. The explosion came as a C.P. Rail coal train passed the leaking tanker. The blast sent a dozen rail cars hurtling in all direc- tions and tore up about 100 metres of tack, Naegle was overlooked for the a and last year when his name didn't appear in an RCMP report of the incident.
