Mrs. . Worsell's class •sends greetings. to
Terri Lynn Menary who is in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London. We hope she'll be back
with us soon.We recently bade farewell to
Brent Gammie who left to spend the sum-
mer in the Yukon.
Kindergarten 1
On Monday,June 1 we travelled to Lon-
don's Storybook Gardens. Everyone en-
joyed seeing the animals and nursery
rhyme characters. We especially enjoyed
their play area.
Grade 1-2, Room 1
In Mrs. Young's class, the grade 1 group
has finished their unit on money. The
grade 2 group is working on place value.
This week's "All About Me" is Craig Mof-
fat and Jordan Andrew.
Grade 3, Room 10
,We have •been busy painting our paper .
rnache farm 'animals. Four of them are
going to the fair. Chris Maize and -Dennis
Black went to the Regional Track and
Field meet. It turned out great.
We are doing a farm unit. It is tun learn-
ing about farm animals and farrii safety.
We have: done paper strip art. Adela An-
drew made her name out of paper strips,
.also Claire Weir made a farmer's wife
with the paper strips. The rest of them
turned out well too.
Our class is. going' to the Goderich
Museum next week with Mrs..('larkc's Gr.
3 class. For lunch we are going' to St. •
Christopher's beach.- Thanks to Mt's..
Webster for helping• us make pinatas

.The architectural firm of C.A. Ventin of
Simcoe was •appointed as the board's,,,ar

struction includes. seven olassrooms, a
gymnasium and change rooms, sr library:
'staff rooms and offices in the ad-
ministrative'arekr,
The -estimated cost of the .construction
work for 'the enlarged school is $1.2 •
million.
Mr. Lane sa.id-he hoped for.inini'stry ap-
proyal by the next 'meeting. June 8, and
that the sketch plans would be ready for •

on Friday May, 29. The reporter is Alison

Grade 6, Room 7
Mrs. Tebbutt's Grade 6, Room 7 planted
putur11n olive trees last week along the
south fence line of the school property. The
trees. were given to the .class by the
Maitland Valley. Conservation Authority.
It is our hope that we will have a new fence
row community in a few years as birds are
attracted to this type of tree. The reporters

Grade 6, Room 8
Our class just arrived back -from a two
day camping trip to Camp Menesetung.
We were involved with orienteering, the
food chain•, beach'hike, ecology study, and
a trip to the Goderich Sky Harbour airport.
We also received letters from our penpals
in East Royalty, Prince Edward Island.
Tryouts are being held for the two -pitch
tournament. The reporters are Trisha
Ohm and Denise Curran.. -
Grade 7 •'
last Friday the. baseball theme day
went • over well. Rhonda 'Dickson's team
(The Boston Red Sox) won a prize for
wearing the -most colours of their team. We
have started the tryouts „for the two -pitch
teams this week.
The coaches this year are Mr. Tremeer -
senior boys, 'Mrs. Allen - senior girls, Mrs,
Jewitt and Mrs. Tebbutt -junior girls and
Mr. Liddle is doing the junior boys. Class

Caley Moore„Jennifer and Dun-
can Mowbray attended the Huron County
Young Authors' conference held in Clin-
ton. They shared .the books that they had
written, illustrated and published with
other young authors from the county.'They
also had the opportunity of meeting and
discussing problems of writing with a pro-
fessional author and illustrator.

about ourselves, and our future life. ( It's

and Motor City. All our surveys are in. and

St.. Patrick's School at Kinkora, French as
a_ second langua.ge,.effective Sept. -1.

Lorrain? Kinglsey who is French Immer-
sion teacher at St. Mary's School in.
Goderich, effective Sept. 1. She will. be .
replaced by, Francine LeBlanc of Ottawa
who is presently attending the University
of Ottawa. '
The Board recently set the rates for the
secretarial staff in the Huron and Perth .
County' elementary schools: Minimums,
$8.65 per hour; Year 2., •$9.00. per hour;
Year 3, $9.35 per hour; Year 4, $9.70 per
hour; and Year 5 f maximum), $10.05 per
hour.•

earliest eyer agreement in the history of,
contract talks. -
