This program will he offeree. at the Stratford Campus commen-
cing September 1987. •
The program is intended for those with an approved certificate
in health or human service• fields, or •equivalent. Those, who
do not hold an appropriate certificate, but .have been working
With. the elderly for at least two years are also eligible to appy
for 'admission with the recommendation .of their employer.
Volunteers who are working with older, adults are eligible for
admission to the theory courses only.

number of prints for the hospital's renovated obstetrics unit. Included along with the prints
was a cheque to be used for the purchase of a tape recorder for the labour room. Maureen

There was an encouraging attendance at
the first Tiger Dunlop Women''s Institute
meeting for the 1987-88 term, Thursday,
May 28 in Colborne Township Hall,
Carlow. The, President, Mrs. E'. Reaburn
opened the meeting welcoming all who
then joined in the • Opening Ode, J'Iary'
Stewart collect and 0 Canada with Mrs. G.
Kaitting, Pianist.
The Roll Call "Tell about a humorous ex-
perience or a joke you have read" afforded
considerable humour. '
• The Secretary, Mrs. R. Buchanan read
the interesting minutes of last meeting,
correspondence was attended to and
members decided to give a donation to the
"Talking Book" of •the Huron County
Library. Mrs. Lois Rowe gave a talk and
demonstration on weaving covering on.

teresting, attractive and of special interest
to many.
The delegates to the District Annual in
Blyth recently gave highlights of the

When the Victorian Order of Nurses (On-
tario) holds its --33rd Annual Meeting in
Toronto June 13, Stratford resident Rev.
F.G. Braby, President will represent the
Board of Management of the Perth -Huron
Branch of VON. Pat Turnbull, will represent
the nursing staff.
'The theme of this year's meeting will be
VON The Future Is Ours. •
The Victorian Order of Nurses has a long
and distinguished history in Canada. This
year marks the 90th Anniversary of the
VON,
The organization was founded in 1897 by
Lady Aberdeen, wife of John Campbell Gor-
don, the 7th Earl of Aberdeen and Governor
General of Canada from 1883-1898. Today
there are 33 Branches' of VON in the Pro-
vince of Ontario.
The Victorian Order of Nurses is a non-
profit health organization which has been
providing home nursing care to -t tlx citizens
of Perth and Huron Counties. he best
known function of the VON is to provide nur-
sing services on a visit basis to. individuals
and families in their own home.. In addition
to visiting nursing service, the Perth -Huron
Branch provides an Adult Day Centre in
Stratford and Mitchell and foot care clinics
in Perth and Huron Counties.

are showing keen interest and concern
regarding teaching agriculture in schools
and are especially concerned that students
receive with the help of Butler Project the
proper knowledge of agriculture as to the
many products and by-products used in
.living derived from milk, meat, wool,
leather, paper, grains etc. It seems young
people are growing up with a poor
knowledge of Canadian resources and
their use to mankind. Our June meeting,
will be Thursday June 25th and plans are
to have a Heritage Tea: Former members .
please note this and plan' to attend and
renew friendships. .
A highlight of the meeting was the Plant '
Sale ' with Donna Yound and Dorothy
Feagan in charge. Members agreed .to
serve the Colborne Central School
Graduation Dinner in June.
The Colborne .Township • Recreation
Committee had a splendid crowd at their
card party Thursday May 28 and report
scores: high lady - Adeline Allin, low lady -
Ethel Goddard; high gent - Cecil Pollock,
low gent, - Barb Pollock. Next card party,
will be Thursday, June 11.
.Mr.& Mrs. Reg. Riehl have ventured into
goat farming and at present have a goodly
number of goats. Last week one of the
Nanny's gave birth to, four kids. •This is:
something exceptional and well worth be-
ing proud of.
`Miracle of Springy' is topic
Lou Bundy and her group were in charge
when forty-five members and guests of the
Evening Unit of North Street United Church
Women met for their- May meeting.
Lou Bundy chose the Miracle of Spring
as hertheme, and opened our meeting with
.a poem called Gardners' Creed.
Jean Hanly sang "I believe in Miracles for
I believe in God" accompanied by Shirley
