Victoria School held their Young Authors' Conference last Wednes-
day. Debbi Hamilton (from left to right), Kerri Kennedy and Min
dy Carter read books authored by their classmates. Visitors to the
conference heard authors read their own published books, browsed
through student -authored material and shared co-operativley pro-

Huron County. Daycare, personal health
care, county employment problems and
pay, equity have been concerns address-
ed by the group in the past.
Financial support comes from a small
membership fee, donation's, but
predominately from federal and provin-
cial grants. The group has successfully
reached its goals with the support of a
rnembersh'ip exceeding 150, people.
On Wednesday, June 10th, at 7:30 p:m.
Women Today will be holding its annual
general meeting at theoffice at 56 Huron
Street, Clinton: Guest speaker, Nancy
Brown -Brunton, a social worker for
Family and Children's' Services will
discuss the community's responsibilities
in regards to child abuse. During this
meeting, a new board of directors w,,ill be
elected for a one-year term andseveral
committees will be formed. They cordial-',
ly invite members and the general public
to attend this .meeting.,
Women Today's goal is to raise the
status and awareness of women in Huron '.
County. They maintain a network bet-
ween women to share ideas, findsupport,
provide learning opportunities and
hopefully affect change within the com-
munity towards a more , positive and •
equal treatment of women. -
• Women Today appreciates the support
of anyone interested in women's issues
and encourages them t'o become •
members and become as involved as per-
sonal time permits.
