studying •pond life. Some 'students have
brought in some pond creatures such as
snakes, frogs, crayfish and other creatures.

hard for track and field which is on May 21.

It might be ‘1P187 but Mr. Culp's class is stu-
dying pioneers. The class is divided up into
seven groups with four people in each group.
Every clay each group does one exciting ac-
tivity. '!'here are slides, filmstrips, coloring,
local history and reading. And they all have
their own scrap book to put their work in.

Room 8 has been very busy practising for
Field Day. We received our class pictures'.

For our survey this, week, the question is
"What is your favorite field day event."
In grade 8, Rob Woods says he likes the
high jump and Trisha MacDonald likes the
n dash. 'In grade 7, Peggy Brindley likes
the triple jump while Tricia Corkum likes
"anything that. doesn't have to do with
running." .

In Krakatoa, room 4, this week we are in-
troducing Krista Ritchie. We are talking
about Rick Hansen too. He is almost home
from his trip in a wheelchair around the
world. This week 'is a workweek. eek. We are
doing research on animals in the library and •
we are• working on our,,Ideal Community
stories and maps. • •

. On Wednesday, April 29 a record crowd
attended the Colborne Central productuai of
Wheels.- a musicale that attempted to ex,
plain the evolution of tom's greatestinven-
tion. Everyone from grades one" through
eight had an active part in the concert.
Many interesting special effects v.'re im-
plemented in order to put Tinish to the pro-
duction. Copies of our video tape of the con-
cert are available for 12 per copy . ('all
524-6252 to order yours.
On May 4 the entire staff attended a 1'I )
Day in Wingharn.. The .thence of that da\
was Communication.
• Un May 7, the Kindergarten class visited
,Glen McNeil's faun. On the 8th, the grads
fi 7 class.spent the day at Wawanosh.
In order to help raise some tnon.vy to sup-
plement 'the cost of field trips the entire
school has been involved in several projects. .
On May -14, Mr. B'rereton's class and Mr.
Bond's class held a very successful Bake
and White Elephant sale. Grade 4-5 also hail
a successful garage sale.' 'We like to
thank all.of the parents who sent things to be
sold and supported these ventures. • ,Two
weeks 'ago, Mr. Medd's class -went to. two
area farms and picked •,12 wagon loads .Id
stories.' i If anyone needs stones, have we got
a deal for you!.) ()n May 20, Mr.. Sanders'
class held a successful Book,Sale. On May
28, -the grade 2-3 class and grade ii -7 .class
are holding a Hamburger Day. Stu
Steenstra, owner of the, Burger Bar in
Goderich, has generously,donated the ham-
burgers for this fundraiser. Stu is also cotri-
ing-out to the' school to act as our Celebrity
