The grade four, room nine students are studying •pond life. Some 'students have brought in some pond creatures such as snakes, frogs, crayfish and other creatures. We wish a ,happy birthda'v to Michael Johnson on May .10,and to Amanda Tocicl .whose birthday was May 18. • The grade fours have been practicing hard for track and field which is on May 21. '!'hey enjoyed a record hop on May 12. They .. have their 'own personal spans out in the hall arid are responsible to °cahnge their ~vork every week. .Grade 4-5, Portable 2 It might be ‘1P187 but Mr. Culp's class is stu- dying pioneers. The class is divided up into seven groups with four people in each group. Every clay each group does one exciting ac- tivity. '!'here are slides, filmstrips, coloring, local history and reading. Our class was also involved in planting trees by hand. . Grade 6, Room 8' Room 8 has been very busy practising for Field Day. In grade 8, Rob Woods says he likes the high jump and Trisha MacDonald likes the n dash. 'In grade 7, Peggy Brindley likes the triple jump while Tricia Corkum likes "anything that. doesn't have to do with running." . Grade.3, Riy»m 4 . On Wednesday, April 29 a record crowd attended the Colborne Central productuai of Wheels.- a musicale that attempted to ex, plain the evolution of tom's greatestinven- tion. Everyone from grades one" through eight had an active part in the concert. Many interesting special effects v.'re im- plemented in order to put Tinish to the pro- duction. In order to help raise some tnon.vy to sup- plement 'the cost of field trips the entire school has been involved in several projects. . On May -14, Mr. B'rereton's class and Mr. Bond's class held a very successful Bake and White Elephant sale. Grade 4-5 also hail a successful garage sale.' Stu Steenstra, owner of the, Burger Bar in Goderich, has generously,donated the ham- burgers for this fundraiser. Stu is also cotri- ing-out to the' school to act as our Celebrity Chef.
