Ideal Supply is back to their old ways with an 18-1 mercy over Shanahan's Foodland. Thruway Muffler, in a double header on Thursday, blanked Murphey's Law 14-0 - and downed the elevators by a 12-7 margin. Sifto Local 16 came back with 2 runsin the seventh to the Dearborn Steelers 2-2. Goderich Chrysler hammered Local 1863 20-3 while Suny's scored 4 in the seventh to edge Little Bowl 13-12. Parkhouse tied Sun - coast Restaurant 7-7, Lakeland sank Lakeview 12 to 5 and Chisholm TV mauled the Gators 23-3. ' Murphy's Law picked up their first win by a score of 17 to 6 over the Cosmos. The Chiefs tomahawked the Coyotes 7-2 while Home Hardware hammered the BB'kg.7. Canadian Tire retired Sifto with a 10-7 score and the Parkhouse downed the Local 17 to 9. Little Bowl rolled over the Gators efeats Shan ac ion last.. 24-6 and in the surprise game of the week Tim Lewis homered,twice to lead Suny's to a 19-18 lead victory over Boyes Transport. Disabled Ganes receive X45,000 brant TORONTO, May 7, 1987 - Regional Games for the Physically'Disabled will be held in three Ontario cities this spring with the help of a $45,000 grant. ' The grant, which was awarded to The Games Council for the Physically Disabl- ed, will assist the three municipalities to operate the Games for competitors from Wheelchair, Blind, Amputee and Cerebral Palsy Sports Associations. The Eastern Regional Games will be held in Cornwall; May 29-31 and the Cen- tral Regional Games will take place in St.., Catharines, May 22-23. As there were no Northern Ontario cities able 'to host the games, the combined Southwestern, Nor- thwestern and Northeastern Regional Games will be hosted by Windsor June 6-7. All three events are being organized by local organizing committees with ad- ministrative assistance from the Games ' Council for the Physically Disable and the Sports Office for the Disable at the Ontario Sports Centre in Wil wdale, .Ontario. "This grant represents my Ministry's commitment to encouraging achievement in all amateur sports across this province,' said Eakins, Ontario Minister of Tourism. and Recreation. Solace from the weather found its form in a pancake and sausage breakfast served complimentary by Sunset staff. Although there was not a winner of the 1987 Ford Tempo generously donated by Suncoaat Ford, Harold Refflinghaus caused alarm by hitting the pin on number 16. Low Gross of the Day went to Brian Reeve, and Low Net of the Day to Harold Refflinghaus. First flite low gross was awarded to Brian Stewart and low net. Ticker Mero. Fred Odbert won low gross in second flite and Leon Gaynor took low net. Third flite low gross was Steve Huff, and Carl Moehler took low net. In the Ladies' flite, Evy McDonagh captured low gross of the day, and Ruth Bushell following with low net of the pay. Carol Habel won second low, net. Men's Nite saw Tony Bedard take Low Gross of the Day with Ken Straughan win- ning Low Net of the Day. Erian Reeve vied for first flite low gross and Stan Connelly boasted low net. Second flite low gross was awarded to Leon Gaynor and George Bolton claimed low net. Hary Livingston won low gross in third flite and Bruce Bar- rie, low net. Ladies' Nite welcomed a near 40 women Thursday evening. Low Gross in first flite went to Club Captain, Kathy MacDonald, and Low net to Shirley Baechler. Joan McDougall took first low gross in second flite followed by a tie for low net between Evy McDdhagh and .Joyce Bolton. In third lite, Ruth Bushell won low gross, and first and second low net went to Joan Thompson and Betty Helesic. Fourth flite winners were Steen Stapleton, first low gross, Carol Habel and Michelle Gaynor tied for second. Roz Elliott with third, and Judy I,ajeunesse following up with fourth low gross. Next Thursday, Ladies` Night will feature a Potluck Supper, and the follow- ing week, Guest Night. Lawn bowling season begins The 1987 lawn bowling season began on Friday, May 22 at 1:15 p.m. The timetable for the season will be the same as in previous years which is Monday, Wednes- day and Friday at 1:15 p.m. and Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 7:15 p.m. Rain cancels a meet. New members will find a warm welcome at the club, which is located at 94 Picton St. West in Goderich. The dues are $30 for the year.
