Yes, I am back home and up to Illy ears in
settlin' in. Soon after we arrived I received a
small parcel. The return name was
unknown to me. What a surprise -money and
glasses that I had missed -but didn't realize
were lost. We had been going once a week to
a small Arrrmish restaurant. The food was
excellent and it was. rather rlice to be treated
like old friends each time. Walt's favorite
meal was veal cutlet with mashed potatoes
and gravy. I tried the other meals -all very
good. The only objection was they were so
large 1 couldn't begin to eat it all. Their
desserts, especially pies, were so tempting -I
often took mine home. It seemed almost
everyone left the place with one or more
white containers. So I must have dropped a
small wallet luckily an address was inside -
and -thankfully they were very honest. , •
When my great, great-granchild came to
.call she gazed al me in awe. Her eyes were
filled with questions. I wondered what she
saw -my graying hair and furrowed brow
betrayed advancing years -could My aap-
pearance bother her or rouse some childish
fears'?

Lounge 1. 1 really worked hard and worried
about things since a manager has to have
his h ind in everything down to shipping and
unpacking. One day we received a small
package poorly wrapped in the shipment. I
could see a shall can-sahnon can, no ad-
dress label. 1 examined it and decided the
only thing to do was ship. it right back to
Toronto. Because the can was obviously
polishes! and Very clean, I couldn't decide if
it was Some kind of juke. I had never receiv-
ed any ••jokes" or prank stuff, so I put a note
in the package and sent it back in the next
shipment. Later the can carne back, not
wrapped but taped to 0 stone and the can
was polished better than. before, .the sheen
was beautiful: •
With ordinary merchandise I would have
called Toronto a.bout.it, but I cut it from the
stone and sent it back. no packing slip on it.
About three days later it was back what was
gain on -what should 1 do about it? Suddenly
1 was very angry -then I awakened -all upset,
was it a clrea_lti:' 1 looked around, .no tin
c•auls-no shipment -what a night.

nature of the family is changing, it is impor-•
tant to provide support to parents in raising
children. Learning. positive parenting skills
can enhance the family 'by making those
hectic growing years more agreeable, more
fun. With the foregoing in mind, the Na-
tional Citizenship Committee urges primary
chapters to work with local organizations to

Nile UCW president Beth Rutledge
welcomed 11 members, three guests and
two children to the May meeting held at the
home of Mildred Johnston.
Following the serving of dessert by the
hostesses (Mildred Johnston and Ann
Feagan), Louise Brindley took charge of the
program. She used as her theme "Praise"
with the thought of the month being from the
Song of Solomon and the scripture was
Psalm 67. She then spoke on an article en-
titled "Let the People Praise Thee". Her
reading "The World is Mine,l Forgive Me
When I Whine." made us realize how for-
tunate we are.
Business included the May 20 ham and
salad supper with tickets available from
Bessie McNee 1529-79661, Phyllis Scott
( 524-9828) and some available at the door.
Nile was asked to supply the secretary for
the Fall Rally September 18 to be held at
Trinity United Church. Bessie McNee
agreed to fill this position.
Mrs. Brindley closed the meeting with a
humorous reading, "I'm Awfully Good for
the Shape I'm In."
