Logothettis, who originally started the
group with. Sloan, said "they follow the
thane of English pantomime. • •
"We like to interact with the 'audience,"
she said, adding that the troupers not only
entertain children but also adults.
According to Logothettis, all.plays per-
formed are original; including the one per-
formed in Goderich, "Joey And ilk Grand-
mother (,o lltl Jll'IKe'.
Joey, a nine -year -Old boy, played by •
Hopkins, is fed -up with hitt-grandniother,
played by Logothettis, and decides Ile does .
not want to. be taken for granted. This
results in a strike. Joey decides that the
grass is greener, literally, on the other side -
of the fence. The play -unfolds as Joey
learns many lessons and realizes that the
grass isn't always. greener on the 'other
side and he appreciates what be has.

operation between governr.nent, business
and industry.
The government of ('anada first annourrc-
ed the introduction of the dollar coin in
Match 1986,, after . several 'business and
'special interest.. groups suggested signifi-
cant savings and benefit:, could be realized.
" For transit companies, the coin is a boon.
`Individual transit c,ornpanies spend
thousands 'of dollars every year to unclog
fare boxes that have "become jammed with
rolled and c'rtunpled dollar 1,ldlls. The-Cana-
cfian Urban 'Transit Association I CUTA 1
forecasts savings of $f -pillion per year with
the int"rod 'e''tinn Of the coin. These, savings
will be passel) on to the passenger in the
form of better and fi ter service.
In addition, with the introduction of a one
dollar o'oin, vending machines will be able to
Ern -v(' expanded product lines. The idea has
also receivepraise from organizations for`
the visually impaired whose members ap-
• preciate :the c'oin's distinctive shape.
' Maurice LaFontaine, Master of the Mint,
said tht, Mint,.•is proud to be involved in. the
11ttast • sigp1fi -ant change to our coinage'
system in tho last"50 years: We believe the
dollar coin will be appreciated and used by
all Canadians." . '
The government has long been consider-
ing. the benefits of a one dollar coin. Each
year :300 -million dollar bills, w'hic'h last only
a year, are "distributed al. a cost of
$16.(i-lnilliirn. The new coin, however, h5"s•a
lifespan of 20 year, and over that time will
enable the government' to save over
$175 -million in production and distribution
costs.
The coin bears t'hc simple loon design by
renowned Canadian artist Robert -Ralph
('armic'hael on one side, and Arnold
Machin's•. poritratt of the Queen on the
obverse. It was engraved by the Mint's Ter•,,
ranee Smith.
