The school earned $3052.73 along with four World Book sets, four Childcraft set, two World Book Dictionaries and one Atlas. The school was involved.in World Book's "Partners in Excellence" read-a-thon: In •this program,. when the school raises $2,000, World Book adds $1,000 which the school uses for the pdrchase of World Book ,sets, Holniesville School, with 114 students in- volved,, raised •$2,035.15: World Book mat- ched $1 for every $2 raised which brought the total to $3,052.73. The school also earn- ed Many 'sets of books including 'four World Books, four Childcraft, Wald Book Dictionaries.and one Atlas. The key to the program is for -each stu- dent to sign up seven sponsors and read seven books within seven weeks. Incen- tives included silver and gold medals and certificates. , One free science set was given to Mrs: Dorie Chisholm's class for 'reading the most books. There were 67"students receiv- ing gold medals and 12 received silver. WOrld Book representative Nancy MacLennan will be returning to -the school this week to conduct a "Look it Up Club" program which will help the students get the most out of World Book, Fallowing this, the. students will •receive Look It Up cer- tificates and pins.
