The summer of 1987 is rapidly drawing
near and the Canada Employment Centre
for Students is gearing up for a busy
season. This year, three student place-
ment officers have been hired to assist
supervisor Janice Dunbar.
Dave MacDonald and Lynne Dodds are
working in the Goderich office while San-
dra Datars welcomes students in the Ex-
eter office,
MacDonald is a Goderich native who is
presently studying law at the University of
Western Ontario. Dodds is from the
Seaforth area and will be attending
Althouse Teachers College in the fall.
This summer MacDonal.i and Dodds will
be assisting both students and employers
in the Go4erich area. Students interested
in a summer job can visit them at the of-
fice located at 35 East St., Goderich
I Canada Post building ).
In addition to working in the Goderich of-
fice, MacDonald will visit Clinton one day
per week. Dodds will also be visiting
Seaforth once a week. Their goal is to
make the student office services more ac
cessible to residents of these two areas.
Datars is a graduate of the psychology
program at the University of Western On-
tario. She will return to Western to pursue
graduate studies in either the psychology
or business•administration program.
Sandra is responsible for helping
students and employers from the Exeter
area meet their summer employment
needs.
The emplyoyment situation in Huron
County appears to be quite good for
students this summer. At this point, job
vacancies are up and student registrations
down compared to May 198
• Many students are workin in career -
related jobs as. a result of the federal
, government's Challenge 1987 program.
Other students will find' employment in
jobs that are being created by the provin-
cial government's Ontario Summer
• Employment Program. This incentive pro-
gram offers a wage subsidy for employers,
enabling them to hire young people.

their regular monthly meeting on May 7.
Board of Health Chairman Grant Stir1-

is how to enforce it. Be said the board will,

Exeter Reeve Bill Mickle asked that the
new $50 fine be ' publicized . in the'
newspapers to tell the public that if the
animal is not vaccinated they will subject '
to -a fine.'•
The county could use this l publicity) as
a warning. This would guard again^t com-
ing down on people about vaccinations and
them not knowing anything about it, he
said.
Tuckersmith Reeve Robert Bell said he
also had doubts about the policing of the •
fine: however, he said it is up to everyone
in the.county, to make sure that their pets
