UCW meets at
Maitland Manor
On Tuesday afternoon April 21 the
Dungannon UCW met at Maitland Manor
Nursing Horne.
Many residents joined in singing their
.favourite hymns. Miss Helen Elliot sang two
beautiful solos, "The Old Rugged Cross"
and "1 Am Satisfied", She was accompanied
by Mrs. Jean Elliot on the organ. John
Williams conducted an Easter service en-
titled "Death and Resurrection." Everyone
repeated "The Lord's Prayer" and hymns
were sung. Then the ladies treated the
residents with delicious cupcakes, and tea
was served: They also visited with them.
The business meeting followed with Mrs.
Jean Errington presiding. Invitations were,
received to Trinity's Thankoffering on April
26th and'the C'ampside experience, at ('amp
Menesetung on June 15 at 9:00 a.m. A thank
you from the Alexandra Marine and
General Hbspital for a crib quilt was receiv-
ed: The next ineeting will be on May 19th at
8:00 p.m. in the church basement.
Health Week set
CLINTON - May 4 to 10 is Mental Health
Week and this year the Huron County Steer-
ing Committee of the Canadian Mental
Health Association (CMHA ) is sponsoring
an evening of information.
On May 6, at 8 p.m. in the Huron County
Board of Education office in Clinton,
Clinical Psychologist William Croker will
speak on Depression: The Common Cold of
the '80s. There will . also' be information
given on CMHA that night. ,

A Card party was held at MacKay Centre
April 8. Margaret Swan and Marion Biggin
were in charge for the evening. Prizes for
500 went to Edna Hunter, high lady anti Bill
McTaggart, high naan.• Prizes for Euchre
went to Mabel Young, high lady and John
Moss, high•man. Gordon Henderson won the
door prize:
• The MacKay Choristers presented a pro-
gram for the residents of Huronview at their -
monthly birthday, party on 'April 15. 'The
MacKay. Centre. catering committee provid-
ed refreshrnents:'
On Wednesday, April 15 the Golden Gate
Seniors. entertained the. Silver Tops from
Auburn. Rita Hazell gave a slide presenta-
tion•and an evening of cards was enjoyed by
everyone. .
Wednesday, April 22 marked the night of
the Variety Program..Doris Hawthorne ar-.
ranged and introduced the evening's enter-
tainment. Kathleen Buckley showed slides
of her hometown .of Barnsley and• the
Yorkshore, Dales and 'of • .Achill Sound, a
small island in County Mayo, Ireland where
her husband ,Brendan's family 'originate.
Mrs. Buckley then went .on to speak about
becoming a Canadian Citizen. The Buckley
family took part in. the recent citizenship
court that was held at the High School on
April 13th. This event.was sponsored by the.
Maple Leaf chapter of the •I.O.D.E: and
marked the 40th aniversary of Canadian
