On Wednesday, May 13th at 8:00 p.m. in'
the Knox Presbyterian Church auditorium
the Sound of Goderich '87 will be presented.
Ten years ago, while trla Stewart was con-
ducting the Laketown Band and directing
the Goderich Teen Tones, she initiated the
Sound of GOderich.
The first concert featured the Teen Tones,
the Laketown Band and the Goderich Choir,
a chorus of mixed voices trained by Joseph
Herdman. This evening of music was so well
received by the people of Goderich that it
became an annual event. Before too long the
Harbouraires and the Craigellen Singers
also became integral parts of this display of
local musical talent.
At the Sound of Goderich '84 another choir
made its debut. This group,. called the
MacKay Choristers, is under the inspira-
tional leadership of Irla Stewart and will be

The four zones in District "C" include the
counties of Huron, Bruce, Grey, Wellington,
Waterloo and Perth.

occasions the MacKay Choirsters were pro-

miss an opportunity to hear this find group
as they present some of the music they will
be singing' at this year's competition, at the
