Seniors travel to quilt show
HOLMESVILLE - The senior choir led in
-
the Ministry of Music in Holmesville United
Church on Sunday Rev. James Bechtel of-
ficiated. He spoke to the children before
they went to their classes. Larry Rutledge
and DaveHemingway received the offering.
Next Sunday, in Holinesville United
Church, Holy Communion will be
celebrated.

. Enterprising Senior News
Several of the senior ladies from the
Enterprising Seniors travelled to Exeter for
ariuilt show. .
The Enterprising Seniors inet in the com-
munity centre on April 2. Gertrudge
Trewartha played the piano for the opening
of the meeting. Bert McCreath was In
charge of the meeting. Roll call was taken
and showed 30 present. Minutes of the last
meeting were approved as read. - '

In the business portion of the meeting a
motion was made to send a quflt made by
Marion,Powell for the seniors arid a $50 che-
que was -sent to the Van Den Berg family
who lost their home recently.
The zone rally was discussed and euchre,
shuffleboard and a social time were enjoyed"
while having lunch.
The Seniors send get well wishes to El*
ward Deeves who has been in hospital since
April 1.
Holmesville UCW hold meeting
HOLMESVILLE - The ladies of
Holmesville UCW junior and senior groups
held their Thank Offering Service on April
21. The leader, Elaine Bechtel, welcomed
the members and guests,and read a verse. A
hymn was sung accompanied by Verna
Lobb at the piano. President Charlotte Nor-
man welcomed, the members and guests.
Jan Rutlege introduced soloist, Heather
Rutledge and her piano accompanist, Diane,
McLennaghen.
Elaine read the scripture followed by a
prayer.
Heather and Diane then -presented more
songs.,.
Elaine introduced the speaker,..B.arb Hicks,
a very active member of Wesley -Willis
Church. Barb works for Conununity Living
of Central Huron County.
A video entitled Breaking'Thru, filmed on
Woodlands Burnaby 13.C., to an institution
for mentally handicapped wa shown. An iln-
teresting story of two young flis who pno-
gressed from Woodlands to live in a groin)
home.
' A question and answer period followed the
video and Barb explained one ofthe,Yriost
important things to these people,is to be ac-
cepted by the public, • ,
Phyllis Cox thanked the , speaker and
Heather and Diane for their music presen-
ting each of them kith a gift. The meeting
was closed singing, a special.hymn. .

Bruce Jardine of tho-Blue Water Amateur Radio Club explains the
operation of his radio to students of Holmesville Public School. The
club visited the school last week. The demonstration also included
the Packet Radio which is a marriage of radio and computers.
Messages can be left on a computer when the operator is not there
to receive them. Its like an electronic corkboard, said Bruce Me-
