The GDCI Viking '!'rack and Held '!'earn
competed at the Westminster S.S. Invita-
tional Track and Field Meet, held Last
Wednesdayin London.,
The Team made ari excellent showing
despite high winds and terrible weather
' conditions. Senior- Sprinter Joanne Camp-
• bell led the Vikings with one first and one
second. She won the 100 metre sprint and
finished second in the 200 metre sprint.

Thrower Ray Bedard placed second in
two events, the senior shot put and the
senior discus.
Other second place finishers were Friit
Robinson in junior 100 metre sprint and
Maureen Stapleton in the senior 400 metre
sprint. .
'Third •place finishes were posted by
Stephanie Durnin ( Jr. Shot ),'Kim Logten-.
burg (sr. javelin ), Bob Pellow ( jr. high

Playoffs are over and individual prize
wihners declared. High aveiage Shirley
Kennedy 218, high triple Nancy White 766,
high single Grace Mugford 371. The winner
of the "mos'. improved bowler" is always a
surprise and will be presented at the
banquet.
Barb's Bunnies won the H &.R Block
trophy for winning the league. They also
won the Manulife trophy donated by Ted
Williams for winning the playoffs. The last
game of the year and the "Bunnies" rolled
1331, for a total pinfall of 7131 for 6 games.

The Oldtimers won the Ormandy trophy
for coming in second and posted high

The Blazers ended up third and only 37
pins behind the Oldtimers. They came too
battle ,and had great efforts from Earleen

The Marionettes carne in fourth and only

conference
Speed and Power: The Winning Cora'

vanced coaching development to be held in
Toronto May 1-3.
Some of Canada's best Olympic athletes
and coaches 'wi111"participate in the con-
ference at University of Toronto,'organiz-
ed by the Canadian Olympic Association
and the Coaching Association of Canada.
"High-level coaching is the key to op-
timal performance for Olympic competi-
tion. We recognize this and therefore have
entered into a a partnership with the
Coaching Association of Canadato provide
a series of advanced coaching seminars,"
said Jack Lynch, Technical Director for
the Canadian Olympic Association.
