to Mrs. Webster and Mrs. Logtenberg for
helping us with Payday. Mrs. Scott and her
Grade 4 students correctly predicted that
since March came in like a lamb it would go
out like a lion. On April 1, Grade 4 is helping
our French teacher, Mr. Hooftman with the
bulletin board by the library. The bulletin
board, called Spring, is a kaledioscope- uN

the questions. There were about 18 ques-
tions and the very, lastl one said; "Now do
the. numbers 1 and 2 and draw a picture of '
your favourite animal:" It was an April.
Fool's joke.
Miss Jewitt's Travelogue
On my recent -trip to Casa de Campo in the
Dominican Republic. l really learned a lot
about how fortunate we are to be Canadians.:-
. • .I saw . beautiful beaches and the brightly..
colored waters of the Caribbean,Sea. I also
found the Dominican people to be very hand-
some and friendly. ' There are great ex-
tremes in that country and••social classes
are very distinct,. W saw some of the very
wealthy and we saw poVerty such as I did
not know existed. In Spite `of their lifestyle,
which is so very different from ours, the
Dominican poor seem content and always
have a ready smile. •
A very pleasant,surprise' awaited
Brookside staff on Thrsday at noon.when
Ruth MacKenzie brought dinner in to 'the
staff room for them. • What a generous and
thoughtful gesture. Thank -you Ruth from
all the,staff.•
