The league disbanded because they did nut like the travel involved, said squirt coach Mike ('ox. Goderich had looked into the possibility of Joining 'another league,, but decided at ' a meeting to play an exhibition schedule for all age groups against area teams. - Cox feels little will change and is not con- cerned about the league's folding. It's no big deal, he said. Registration fur all <iRe,s, boys and girls begins April 14 and the fee is $10. ('ox is not sure if there will be enough players for a bantam team but urges players to sign up. M•lunet• will be refunded if a team cannot be formed, he said. A house league may be formed' fur squirts if enough interest is shown. The fist gainkt should be played third week in May, weather permitting. . Recreation Director, $60;000 remains from an, Ontario Neibourhood -Inproveinent Project grant-- 120,000 was spent on new bleachers for the softball diamond. A report to the board by'.JAI) Engineering 'of Owen Sound said it•may cost $251,000 to. improve acoustics a Memorial Arena. • Netzke said that•is not an option. "We will - get whatever we can for $60,000." she said. However,. the Recreation Board recornended to Goderich council that they accept JAD's offer to supervise installation of sound absorbing material , and review tenders of companies wishing to manufac- ture and install the material: .JAI) would charge ,$7,000 for the service.
