The Works and Engineering Department,_ in conjunction with
the Parks and Waterfront Committee, are taking orders for trees
to be planted on Town boulevards this Spring.
Due to location and tree diseases, the type of trees to be planted
shall be at the discretion of the Town, however; owner preference
will be accommodated when possible.
If you wish a tree(s) to be planted in front of your residence or
business, please contact the office of the Commissioner of
Works, Mr. Kenneth C. Hunter, at 524-7308 before April 10, 1987.
There are a limited number of trees available,
so please call early.

Colborne students to help . t Cancer Campaign
The. Kindergarten's holidays were en-
joyed tothe fullest. Everyone is en'
thusiastic about spring and the changes it'
brings. They are learning about robins.
They know a song aboutkatching worms.
Mr. 'Sanders grade 3-4 ass has started
making papermache mod s of prehistoric
animals., They are also le• ruing 'the right
commands for a computer program called
Logo.
Grade 6-7 will be.finishing up their ukelele
unit in music next we Our sincere thanks
to Vanastra Public Sch for lending us
their instruments.
Things got back to. normal quite quickly in
the grade 7-8 class this week. We are look-
ing forward to assisting the Goderich
branch of the Canadian Cancer. Society With
the daffodil campaign. We will be selling
daffodils on the •Square and at the malls on
Thursday, Friday .nd Saturday in April.
Several. students have made • posters to
advertise the campaign.
Choir/members have been busy tuning up
for their spring musical entitled "Wheels"
to be presented at the end of April.
A very successful and impressive.Sci.ence
Fair was held at the school .this week. An
open house was held•on Wednesday: evening

are currently learning about interest and
finding it very interesting and Sometimes
surprising.
The.March break seemed to be "just what
the doctor ordered." .Everyone in 8A seem-
ed happy, to return to school and settled
down to work. After all, they are in the final
days before entering high school.
This term, gradese„7 and 8's had a major
science project which was due Thursday,
March 26.

Thanks to everyone who helped organize it.
It was a great success. The students en-
joyed various activity centres that ranged
from cars, history, music and entertain-
ment to dance and recreation.. The teachers
enjoyed the change in programme as well as
the students. The week culminated in a 50's
dance.. The, student's and teachers. showed
their support.by dressing in the styles of the
"good old days". A dance contest was held
with final contestants judged by Miss Mary
Lou Telford. 'Winners were Kim Linklater
and Becky Penn from grade 8 and:Tracey
Melick':and Elizabeth Ball from grade 7.
Winners in the hula -hoop contest were
,Tafline Scott and Shannon Hill. .They all
won frisbees. Excellent participation win-
ners were Paul Wheeler and Brian Pickell
frorp grade 7, Grade 8 winners were Shan-
non Hill and Angie James. Best bobby-
soxers in grade .7 were Tara Cornish and
Angie Harrison. Every student was an at-
titude winner as shown by their co-operative

range for Shirley Jay, . an author from
Toronto, to come and visit the students 4f
Robertson in the afternoon of 'Thursday,
• April 2. She. h;s written and 'illustrated
books, two of which are "Ruthie's Big Tree"
and "Waldo's Baek Yard." . We certainly
look ,forward to meeting her.
Mr. Scratch's grade six class is back from
March Break and they are back to hard
work.' In Science, they are discussing South
America. They are also working on a Music
project where they. do a bit of research •on
their favourite instrument, band or.music in .
general. •
Mrs. Smith's class welcomes a new stu-
dent, Kenny .Pardon from Wingham. We
hope you enjoy Robertson, Kenny. ,
• The junior choir has started practising for
the Spring Concert. The primary.choir is
finished for this year. They had 'a very suc-
.cessful concert. on March 5.
Sev,en A is raising funds to pay for a three--
day stay at Camp Sylvan. Camp Sylvan is a
conservation program, run by the Asuable-
Bayfield Conservation Authority. Ori Thurs-
day, March.27 the class organized a Remote
Car Race in the gym. Next week we will be
selling tickets on a draw for -a pair of
Smorgasbord tickets from the Bedford
Hotel. Tickets are 50 cents each or three for
$1. Ask someone from 7A for a ticket,- the
value of a pair of tickets for the
smorgasbord is $10. Grade 7A is alio having
a bake sale at the Science Fair Open House
on Tuesday, March 31. Also watch for a car
wash and a hotdog lunch coming soon:
