The Goderich Signal-Star, 1987-04-01, Page 20PAGE 20 GODERICH SIGNAL -STAR, WEDNESDAY, APRIL. 1, 1987 Family Goderich youths attend a Catholic retreat day in Hensall 4 Liturgical specialists Paul Coates and 'I'lrn Crowley from St. Boniface parish in Toronto were the animators for a Retreat Day held in the Hensall Conununity Centre for Catholic young people from Huron Coun- ty. Sixty secondary school students from Godevich, Seaforth and Zurich joined en- thusiastically. in songs, prayer and activities Paul and Tim talked about what it means to he a faith person today, and on moral decision-making. The two talented musi- cians challenged the students to take a 'Closer look at the Gospel and apply it to their lives. As the teenagers reflected on this message, they were led to a deeper understanding; of what it means to he a Christian in the contemporary world. 'The day was part of a requirement for a credit in continuing; education religion. The F EAST E REPO RT Huron -Perth Roman Catholic School Board has sponsored the course for the past two years. On successful completion of the course the participating• students will 'receive a credit in religious studies towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma. The day ended with the celebration of the Echarist. Teachers. and students returned home with a stronger commitment towards their community. '1'o put it in the words of one of the students: 'I hope we have another day like this next year.' About 60 high school students from Zurich, Goderie°h and Seaforth. attended a Catholic youth retreat at the Hensall Community Centre, organised by the religious studies staff in continuing education of the Huron -Perth R.C.S.S.Board.' After finishing .work for Christopher Borgal Ar- chitect of Blyth, he is scheduled to begin work in April of 1987 with Leon, Kentridge and Associates; a Toronto-based urban design consulting firm.
