Goderich youths attend a
Catholic retreat day in Hensall 4
Liturgical specialists Paul Coates and
'I'lrn Crowley from St. Boniface parish in
Toronto were the animators for a Retreat
Day held in the Hensall Conununity Centre
for Catholic young people from Huron Coun-
ty. Sixty secondary school students from
Godevich, Seaforth and Zurich joined en-
thusiastically. in songs, prayer and
activities
Paul and Tim talked about what it means
to he a faith person today, and on moral
decision-making. The two talented musi-
cians challenged the students to take a
'Closer look at the Gospel and apply it to their
lives. As the teenagers reflected on this
message, they were led to a deeper
understanding; of what it means to he a
Christian in the contemporary world.
'The day was part of a requirement for a
credit in continuing; education religion. The

Huron -Perth Roman Catholic School Board
has sponsored the course for the past two
years. On successful completion of the
course the participating• students will
'receive a credit in religious studies towards
their Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
The day ended with the celebration of the
Echarist. Teachers. and students returned
home with a stronger commitment towards
their community.
'1'o put it in the words of one of the
students: 'I hope we have another day like
this next year.'
About 60 high school students from Zurich, Goderie°h and Seaforth.
attended a Catholic youth retreat at the Hensall Community Centre,
organised by the religious studies staff in continuing education of
the Huron -Perth R.C.S.S.Board.' Shown. with liturgical specialist
