Rev. Gary Shuttleworth conduFted the
morning service at Knox United Chi. rch.
The organ prelude was by choir director
Lori Millian. The prayer of invocation was
said in unison. Life and work of the church
were given. The prayer of confession was
read responsively and words of assurance
and the Lord's prayer were read.
The choir sang "Do you know .le us": The
children's hymn, -All things b ig.ht and
beautiful", was sung. The ixrinist r told the
children's story and they then wen to junior
congregation with.,teachers_ 4 l a Glenn,
Anita Gross and Allison Chamney.
'• The minister's sermon was entitled "The
sununons of God." The offertory p ayer and
dedication of gifts, tithes and off ring were
given. The offering was receive by Brian
Ramsey andMarinus Bakker. Th minister
pronounced the benediction and. t e perviice
closed with the congregational bengdiction
"Lord we pray."

Knox UCW
The general meeting of the Auburn UCW
was held on March 24 at 8 p.m. at the
church. The president, Mrs. Peter Verbeek,
opened the meeting with prayer and then
conducted the business. The secretary read
the minutes and letters received and the
treasurer,- Mrs. Greg Park, gave her report.
A changed in meal prices that had been
approved by "the Women's Institute was
given and moved by Mrs. Greg Park abd
seconded by Mrs, Barry Millian that this,be
accepted. The invitiation to the Blyth spring
Thankoffering service was accepted. Fifty
dollars is to be sent to the Huron -Perth
Presbytery fpr camp counsellors. A UCW
Anniversary pin was shown and Mrs. Greg
Park is to be notified if a pin is deserved.
Various committees gave their -reports.
Mrs. Maurice Bean told about
Westminster weekend nn June6-7, The topic
will be "Decisions in Discipleship" and Dr.
Agnes Groome will be the ,guest speaker.
Total cost per person is $85. It was decided
to pay half the price for anyone going.
UCW from Goderich Victoria and North
Street churches, Benrniller and the, village
ladies are to be invited to the Easter
Thankoffering on April 22. The guest
speaker will be Mrs. R. Gelwick of Blyth.
Mrs. Oliver Anderson anis Mrs. Greg Park
are to purchase the Easter lilies. Easter
baskets' are to be made up by Unit I and
delivered by Unit II.
The. theme of the programme cornrrl ttee
was "Friendship" with Mrs.:Marinus ak-
ker opening the service with a poem. " hat
a friend we have in Jesus" was sung ith
Mrs. Barry Millian as pianist. Mrs. Jake
Middelkamp'read Matthew 25 verses 31-40
and spoke on how to.. be_a friend and how to
make friends. Offering was received by
Mrs. Bakker and the offertory plrulyer was
given.
Mrs. Middelcamp introduced the guest
speaker, Mrs. J. MacPherson of Ripley. She:
told us that the burdens of life are not .so
heavy when there are friends to 'share them'
with. She showed various articles that
reminded her of friends and told about
them. They showed rewrds of friendship
and the love of God. Next she produced
paper, scissors, netting etc. and everyone
made an Easter basket. Mrs. Middelkamp
thanked Mrs. MacPherson and presented
her with a gift. '
