The Reg .McGee Trophy went to St.
Marys for their 3-2 victory over Port Perry
that earned thein the B Division champion-
ship Saturday afternoon.
Four of the game's five goals were
scored in the final six minutes of the game
and alternated between the teams. The
game -winner was scored with 17 seconds
left in regulation time by St. Marys star
left-winger Danny Ryan. Port Perry
goaltender .Shawn Larocclue played a
pivotal part in keeping the game close by
coming up with some outstanding saves
throughout the game.
A scoreless first period was characteriz-
ed by end-to-end drives and some great
goaltending, notably in the Port Perry
crease. • Numerous St. Marys• chances
were stopped dead by Larocque and •.
Larocq.ue only.
Fairly even play continued into the se-
cond period, with St. Marys just slightly
dominating. Kevin Seguin opened things
up when right-winger Bentley Murray slid
the puck into the slot where Seguin blasted
it past Larocque at 8:3.8'.
Seguin's goal remained the solitary
score until ,9:01 of the third period when
.Jason Cochrane fed assistant' captain -Jan
Heyes to tie the game at one apiece. St.
Marys captain Scott Riddell . retaliated
three minutes later to put lids team back in
the lead at 2-1., That advantage proved to
be short-lived, as Port Perry's Brett.
Puckrin scored only 25 seconds after the
Riddell goal to once more tie it up. Then,
at 14:43, St. Marys went ahead 3-2 when
the puck eluded Larocque and cruised over
the .goal line. The goal became the
deciding; factor when time ran out for Port
Perry 17 :second:~ later. .

Walkerton nips Oakville 4-3 in overtime
Game tied at three, five seconds left on
the clock. Suddenly, the. puck squirts loose
at the Oakville blueline. A WalkertorG; Gs-
ward picks it up and drives toward th net,
with two Oakville defenders hanging from
his sweater. He.pulls the goalie and s1•iclest
the puck past him. The buzzer sounds to end
the period as the puck crosses the goal line.
Overtime.
That is just a sample of the excitement in
the B Division' consolation final as Walker-
ton 'came from behind to beat Oakville 4-3 in
overtime.
The first two periods lipid excitement, end
to end rushes, great goaltending. but no
goals.
Fireworks started ,in,'the first minute of
the third period when Jamie McKenzie took
a pass from Brian McNaught and Rick Bor-
thwick and drilled it by , the Walkerton •
goalie; Dennis Chesney. Walkerton tied the
score before the two, minute mark, when
Steve Todtz scored from .Josh MacDonald.
Oakville took a two goal lead before the
middle of the period on two goals by
,McNaught. The first assisted Bill Familia.
The second, from Kevin Ball, made the
score 4-2.
Walkerton applied • almost• constant
pressure and were rewarded by,two quick •
goals; by Ball, 33 seconds apart. His first"
an unassisted marker, gave Walkerton hope •
acid his .second from Jeff Oesstreicher and• •
Ian Jassen set them on fire..
Even the disallowed goal could not "slow
.Walkerton down and they dominated in
overtime. • Pour. .minutes into . the extra
frame, Ball completed his hat trick, 00 a
great individual effort.

$, aptain, Oestreicher, with the (' Division •
consolation trophy, donated by Blue Water
Truck Centre.
Milverton advanced to C final with win
In a game Clinton Coach Greg Burns
described as a rough. one, Milverton beat
Clinton 5-4 in overtime .to advance to .0
Division finals.
During the second period, Jason Fleet,
Clinton defenceman, took a clean hard
check and didn't get up. He did make it to
the bench but when he tried to later leave
the game he collapsed on the ice. An aril
bulance was called and Fleet was taken to
Alexander,•Marine and General Hospital

• Durham trounced Mitchell 7-2 to take the
(' consolation title Saturday afternoon. •
The Blue Water Truck Centre Trophy -
was presented 'by Carlyle Bannister to.
Durham captain.Greg Patterson, who not-
- cued three goals and two assists in the
match.
- Durham shut out Mitchell for the first
two periods and for most of the third. Pat-
terson opened the scoring , after two
minutes of first -period action when he pok-
ed a loose puck past Mitchell goalie Joe
Harris. ~like Hastie scored moments later
when he put the puck into the right side of
the Mitchell goal at 2:44 to make it 2-0.
Durham continued their domination of
the Mitchell' squad in the second period
with an unassisted power -play goal from '
defenceman Jamie Cook at 3:24.
Patterson, Hastie and .Jeff , Marshall
.„scored singles to push the lead to five goals
by the time nine. minutes had elapsed in
the third period. Mitchell's Derek Cherrey
scored on a power play with a shot from
the slot to beatDurham nettninder Karl
Rutherford at 10:05. Patterson completed
his hat trick a minute later by deflecting
the puck into' the Mitchell net with his
body, The initial shot was unloaded by
defenceman Mike Watson from inside the
blue line. Mitchell scored once more at
11:37. but Durham came away with the 7-2
win.

than three minutes in the period. Jeff Tan-
ner scored his first of four goals from Col-
by Kipfer and Shannon Gilbert..
Clinton'scored two goals 40 the' second
•period. _ The .first by Scott :Jewitt from
Chipchase andFleet and the second, two
minutes. by Fleet from Jason Carter and
Chipchase gave Clinton a 3-2, lead.
However, 40 seconds after Fleets marker,
'fanner :scored unassisted to bring Milver-

ton within one goal.
The two tean'Ys traded unassisted goals
midway through the third.'Gilbert first for •
Milverton to tie the game and two minutes
later Jeff DeRuyter put 'Clinton back in
front 4-3. •
Tanner scored his third from Perry Ohm
and Gilbert at 7:25 of the third to send the
game into overtime...
In the extra period Tanner capped five
point' performance by taking a, pass from
Zehr and blasting it behind Clinton goalie,
Danny Dupee.

Mitchell advanced to final

Mitchell scored twice in the third period
to break a tie and defeat Harriston 5-3 in a
(: Division semifinal, confrontation Satur-'
day morning. •
Mitchell centre Rob ,Jarmuth scored the
first and last goals of th e game to help his
'team clinch a spot lin? 'the final game
against Durham later Saturday.
.Jarmuth started the scoring off with ap
unassisted goal at 7:49 of the first period.
Harriston defenceman Jan Hyrners
responded on behalf of his team one
minute later with help from centre Shane
Wanless. Dennis Small fed Doug Richard-
son to put Harriston in the lead 2-1 with 23
second. left in the first period,, •
Cory Dixon tied the game at 2:53 of the
second period, with Chris ('olquhoun and
Jarmuth laying the groundwork for the
Mitchell goal. ,Mitchell made it 3-2 with a
shorthanded goal by Brent Dietz from Jar-
rriuth at 6:09. Harriston tied it up with half
a minute left in the period when Richard-
son scored his second of the game. -The
score was, 3-3 going.into the final period.
The, gav'1e remained at an impasse until
the 7:05 mark when Mitchell right-winger
Dan Boyd placed one high in the top corner
of the Harriston net after a feed from cap-
tain Duane Harmer. .Jarmotrl,made it, 5-3
on a power play with dight seconds left to
finish off Harriston.
