AVMS members reminded of meetings
Members of the WMS (WD) Afternoon
Auxiliary of Knox Presbyterian Church met
in the church parlour on Tuesday, March 17.
' President Mrs. D. Murchison presided, and
welcomed all who then joined in singing the
hymn "Where cross ,the crowded ways of.
life". For. the call to worship the poem
':Give us daily awareness" and scripture
,Galations 2 vs. 20 was read followed by
prayer.
Jean Scott, secretary, gave the roll call
and read the minutes of the Last meeting.
Reports were heard from treasurer Mrs.
G.C. White, corresponding secretary Mrs.
0. Fal'kiner, Mrs. C. M. Wilson and Mrs. E.
Bogie, special visitation for the month.
' Members were reminded, of special
meetings .,such as . the Stratford -Huron
Presbyterial WMS Annual Meeting in Knox
Presbyterian Church, Stratford on Tuesday,
March 24 and the meeting of the Synodical
Society of Hamilton and London WMS ( WD )
Presbyterian Chutch in, Canada at Listowel
on April 21 and 22: For the month of April,
the Knox WMS meeting will be held Tues -

There were 39 tables in • play at the
eyf:hre tournament sponsored by the
Dungannon Agricultural Society on Satur-
day, march 14,
The high couple was Thys, and Femmie
Groen with a'score of 80 points. Gayle
Jessup and Sandy Wilson "tied at 79 with
Leroy Draper and Hiram Smith. In a game
to break the, tie, Gayle and Sandy won to
take, second place while Leroy and Hiram
placed third.
' In a special contest, June Horton was the
lucky winner while Aileen Tiggert receiv-
ed a consolation prize.
The $50 cash prize for. the "EarlyBird"
draw in the Las Vegas-contest'was won by
Jim Hayter Jr. of.Goderich. Tickets are
still available at $10 each with first prize
being a trip for two to Las Vegas and se-
cond prize. being a weekend for two at te
Wheels Inn, Chatham. Third prize is free
admiSsi'on for two people to all events
• sponsored by the Dungannon Agricultural
Society during the next year.
These draws will take place at the next
euchre tournament , April 11 at 2 p.m.

Meeting al First Presbyterian Church in
$eaforth or. Wednesday, April 8 at 8 p.m.
The topicof the meeting was "Nepal" and
was interesing presented by Mrs. Edward's.
giroup. Annteresting introduction as to the
Ido cation an( knowledgable facts of the work
that is carri;d on was given by Mrs. Edward
and Miss Ha White spoke from her first •

hand knowedge of Nepal having visited
there in the early 1980's but still very 'in-
teresting aril informative.
Mrs. Edvlard then presented the• video'
tape, a gift floor Mrs: Ann Leitch of Toronto,
a member' (f the . Recruitriient Committee
for Ewart College, Toronto Presbyterian
-Church in Canada. The tape celebrates 90
years of Diaconal Training of the Church of
local interest. On the tape, references were
made to Miss Lily McArthur, a former Dean
of Ewart College. The speaking parts were
by Mrs. I Rev.') Peter Walter and Miss Mary
Jane Bisset, both graduates of Ewart Col-
lege. This ..was very interesting and ap-
preciated by the. members.
Ewart College is the direct gift ,of Mrs.
Ewart, who at her death left her Money for a
training school, for .i Diaconal) Deaconess
training.• '
Mrs. Ora McCallum offered 'prayer and
the meeting closed with Members singing a
hymn and benediction.
