Girls band
goes to USA
The Seaforth District lligh Schciiil all girls
'marching band is offagain travelling across
:h,: United States. The band is going to Myr=
tlel3each, South Carolina to take part in the
Can -Am Festival,'March 14-22.
The•barid will be appearing for the Myrtle
f3cach Chamber of Cominerce, along,with
the Teen' Tour Band from Harlington, On-
tario. The girls` will be appearing at the Con-
vention Centre. North Myrtle Beach City
Hall, Myrtle Beach ShoppingPlaza and''thc
Beach Pavilion.
The sixty-two' member band will be ac:-
connpanied by thirty adults •made up of
chaperones, parents and interested adults
from the Seaforth and Goderich area. Each
day will be spent performing, Sun bathing,
shopping and, on Friday, March 22, `the
group'wiil be travelling to Charleston for a
day of site seeing. The band has become so
popular .that their ser•viccs'ar•e dcmandi'd
from as far away as Youngstown, i)hio, to
Ottawa. .
SF)HS is the only high school 'marc'hing
band in Southwestern Ontario. They will be
performing marching routines based an
Canadian Music. The band has members
.from both Goderich and Clinton helping to
round out the membership.
The tour will .cost twcilty-twit thousand
dollars. All the funds have been put together
without any major fund raising project.
