The seasonstandings don't count for anything as the eight league teams play a three-day round robin tournament beginn- inv Thursday to decide the league champion. The tournament, which begins Thursday anti ends with the championship game Saturday evening, will feature two divi- sions of four teams. The A Division is com- prised of O'Briens, Sunset, Bedford Hotel and Lakeland. Clere-Vu'Rockets, Hodges, Murphy's Green Machine and Parkhouse, make up the B Division. Under the tournment format, each team will play a three -game round robin within its own division. Then the top two teams in each division will advance with Al with playing 132 and A2 playing 131 in a one - game sudden showdown. The two sur- vivors will then play for the league cham- pionship Saturday. The two ,finalists will play five games in three days. Play begins Thursday night in Goderich and Clinton with O'Briens playing Sunset at 8 p.m. in Goderich followed .by Bedford and Lakeland. In Clinton, beginning at 9 Hodges will play Parkhouse and Rockets will play Murphy's. On Friday evening play begins at 7 p.m. 110- wi ner robin tourney with Bedford and sunset squaring on followed by Rockets and Parkhouse at 8:15 p.m., O'Briens and Lakeland at 9:30. and Hodges will play Murphy's at 10:45 p.m. Play resumes Saturday morning with'. Bedford and O'Briens going at 9 a.m. followed by 'Rockets and Hodges at 10:15, Murphy's and Parkhouse at 11:30 and Sunset and Lakeland will play at 1 p.111. The semi-finalgame is scheduled for 3:30 and 4:45 p.rn. ' Following the championship game, the league will hold 'its awards banquet and dance in the arena auditorium. There is no admission charge for the games and tickets for the dance will be available at the door for $5. Dick McLean rolls 378 single in league Mixed Ups now have solo possession of first place by virtue of 5-2 win over 'Maybe Next Week. Dan Willis rolled 609, Lois Rowe 222 and Connie Dawson 233. Haydn Thomas had 221 while I,ori Kennedy rolled 85 POA. Exterminators took five points off Masters as Murray Hunter had 664 and Ray Hartin 245. Ron .Carrick bowled a 266. Swingers got five points from Spinners as Diana Maley had 230 while Bob Walsh rolled 261. THURSDAY SENIORS This week 52 seniors were out to enjoy the action as some fine games were rolled. ester Snider had the men's high triple of 651 while Art LeFebre had 290 for high single. Ladies high triple and single went to. Maxine Callender with 546 & 230. Other gariii!s rolled were Gwyn •McRae 212, Ben Hamilt.on-.236, Doris Hicks 201, Austin Hart- . inan 212, and Ann Linklater 214. 'WEDNESDAY YOUNG MEN • Dave's' Dudes, Raymones and Dirty Danglers all took seven points this week with fine scores by Rick Bourassa 248, Dave •• Forde 215, John Leddy 246,. Gard Moulton 216 and James Sturdy 211. WEDNESDAY MAJOR Dick McLean came up with the high score this; week of 378 and 1346 to help Barb's • Teamtake 11 points from Del's Team. Del • Mitchelmore • rolled a 325 and 1188. Al . Sanders rolled 361 and Dennis,Schmidt 1237 • to lead Shirley's Team to 19 points off Marj's Team. Rob Little had 1223 and'Marj Moore 266. • • . TUESDAY MIXED With the season nbw over final standings were Tricky Six 100, Frame Ups 95, Barb's Gang 85, Bell's Angels 84, G.M.C.'s 82, Underdog 81, 6 Pac 72, ? 68, Bowled Eagles 66, Sound Trek 64, Tailenders 63, Unknowns 63. Some highlights of this week were Marj Moore 675, Walter Bell 271, Rose Mathers 608, Jack Gilbert 765, Francis Merkley 302 and 764, Art Burt 318 and 810, Bob Graham 746, Hugh ,McGregor 255, Diane Sutton 273 and 675, 'Roberta Machan 276. and 672 Dick McLean 272 and 757, Carl Peterson 251, Lee Littlechild 269, Manfred Popernitsch 294 and 800, and Debbie Abbott 251. The ':Bunnies' held on for three points led- by Joyce Pettus 203, Dorothy .Bourdeau 235, 13ev Whetstone 251, Shirley Kennedy- 257. The Marionettes took five points from the Wallbangers with good games from Kit Smith 180, Ett Bradley 222, Marion Beacom. 222, Marilyn Bannister 231, 665. Wallbangers took two 'points. The Oldtimers took five points from the Blazers with good games from Melba Maillet 231, I)el Geddes 260 and Nancy White 247, 665 tri- ple. Joyce Hamilton with 221 took the Blazers to a two point win. Auleen's Angels were bowling against 100 percent of their average and came away with seven points. Good efforts from Carolyn Carter 206, Grace Mugford 209, Auleen Theriault 208' and Bren- da Dineen 233, 622 triple. WEDNESDAYMI-XED The Happy Gang took all seven points from A & P helping them to stay in the lead with 93. For the Happy Gang Debbie Clarence had a 299, 727 and for A &P Steve Allen with a 322, 79:3. Newcomers Part 2„ .Scarios and' CE DJ's all took five'points from their opposition. Mary Pennington for the Scarios 229, 215, 210 - 654. Brian Johnston - for Newcomers 23:3, 248 - 642 and ,John Allen for CE DJ's With 243 - 675 all helping their teams. Cheryl Smith for Happy Gang. had .152 POA. WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON LADIES ' The Wolverines, still leading the .pack, gave up 4 points to the Gophers. Donna Crawford rolling 209. The Chipmunks gain- ed five over the Lions. Shirley. Kennedy scored a 672 triple. The Bear. Cubs swept seven points for the Wildcats with the help of 6'88 triple from .Janet Fumig. The Fonz rallied to take seven pOints from the Sly Foxes, despite a 309 by Shirley Smith. The Cobras took. four points from the Tigers. Daisy Scott had a 619 triple to help the Turtles take seven points from the Pblar Bears.
