Thefiweens, after an undefeated season, disposed of St, .Marys. in two straight games in the opening round of the playoffs but their winning streak was derailed. here Sunday as Seaforth came up with a 7-2 win in the opening game of the second round of, Lions lose playoff game. to Exeter Exeter scored seven goals in the' first period and coasted•to a 12-5 win over the Goderich Lion Petites in ringette playoff action in Goderich Sunday., • The victory was the second straight for Exeter as they clinched the best -of -three playoff series in two games. „The°young Goderich team played well under Angela Carter despite loosing in the playoff series. Exeter racked up a 7-1 lead in the first "period and then narrowly, outscored Goderich 5-4 in the second period to win 12-5. • Sherry Hogan led the Goderich offence with three goals and an assist for a four - point effort. She scored the first three Goderich goals and then set up Erin' Purser for the fourth in the'second period. Karen Harrison' scored the final Goderich goal on an unassisted effort with just over a minute to play. NEMSENSENRIONEEIRBIEW RINGETTE playoffs. Seaforth took control of the ,game in the opening period, outscoring Goderich 4-1. Alesha Glousher scored the first Goderich goal from Trisha Rumig to narrow the Seaforth lead to 2-1.but the visitors replied with two goals before the end of the period to' carry. a 4-1, lead. into the final period. Seaforth then outscored Goderich 3-1 in the second period to win 7-2. Tara Haylow scored the second Goderich goal with Christina and Tracy Melick assisting.
