The Ontario Public School Tealchers'
Federation 1 OPSTF I is dedicated to foster-
ing ' excellence within our public school
system and, because of this, it carries.out a
variety of unique programs to pu,•sue this
goal. The members of the OPSTF believe
that education does not go on entirely within
the walls of our schools; there are a variety
of situations in which adults engage in many
valuable educational activities. 'These in-
clude taking part in church committees,
athletic groups, volunteeeclubs and recrea-
tional activities; the list could go on.
There are a number of clubs`who meet on
a regular basis, andthey are continually
searching for guest speakers who would be
willing to discuss topics of interest with
them. Because of this, a number of O'PSTF
members have Volunteered to speak to ser-
vice clubs on a variety of issues which may
be of interest to them — the topics are listed
below. Please feel free to contact Richard
Maertens, Chairperson of the Public Rela-
tions Committee, at 335-3566 to book a conve-
nient time for the speaker to present his/her
topic of interest to your club.
Topics: The Liberal Arts in Education,
The Rationale of the Curriculum, E.ducatiun
ul Gerivauy and England, Learning Ac-
tivities for Preschool Children, Lion's Quest
Program, Autism: A Better Understanding,
Inuit Culture. Values, Influences and .Peers
Program, Grade 4 Curriculum, China, In-
dividualizing Education, Heart and Stroke
Foundation, Leadership.
We hope to add more topics to this list, but
it's a good start on this 'ex'citing new ven-
